So if I understand you correctly, if you don't get the heat for the pool, the hot tub will be cold too? I ordered just heat for the hot tub and no heat for the pool. I like the heat from the hot tub, but when it get's to hot ,I like jumping in a cool pool. I didn't know about the temp being the same in the pool & hot tub. What is the point of a Hot tub/Spa if it's not hot?
You really have to check with your pool home owner as to the type of pool/spa/hot tub/heating set up they have.
They could have electric heating for the pool, and gas heating for the spa...
They could have electric heating for both..
They could have solar heating..
Gas heating for both..
Heating only for the spa..
What makes everything so confusing is that the ads will specify a spa or a hot tub..to some, they're the same thing, ie, DH and I

It's a smaller "pool", with high pressure jets, that you can turn off and on, and gets hotter than the pool - would be our definition.
To other people, that's a hot tub.
We thought the hot tubs were freestanding, cedar trimmed, with the big heavy covers.

(But that the little circular spas at the side would always have extra heating capabilities...and we discovered that's not always the case).
Some of the pool homes (like the one we rented our first stay) has a lovely spa...it's a small pool, with seating, and high pressure jets that you can turn off and on...
...but no extra heat. (Other than the heating for the pool)
The key questions to ask an owner before signing a rental agreement - if this is important to you - are:
"Does your spa/jetted tub heat up to 104*, quickly?
How long does it take to heat?
How is it heated?
Is it dependent on the outside air temps?
Can I turn the jets on and off and still have the spa warm?"
Sorry this is so long
It sounds like the heating capabilities for the spa you're renting is perhaps gas heating, and separate from the pool heater...which is likely electric (It may be gas too, but that would be really $$$)
Just check with your owner - and let us know too
