I just got back from Thanksgiving vacation with my in-laws to get my letter letting me know that the Luna Park pool will be closed. I am NOT happy.
I am required to book 11 months out to get the "Boardwalk view" that I want (which I did). Then, I added another room for friends in July and had to wait list for half of the time frame. Those days just came through about a month ago.
NOW - the main pool is not open for my stay at BWV? I am furious. They HAD to know about the rehab. Yes, rebabs happen, but when I am required to book 11 months out to get the Boardwalk view room I want and the fact that Boardwalk pool went through a minor rehab last year in January when we were - it is frustrating. Two trips where we have been completely inconvenienced.
Now - it is WAY too late for me to try to change to another resort. Had they let me know earlier, I would have tried to change (or wait list) for BCV for our trip. But, they wait until 6 weeks before my trip. So - my choice is to cancel or stay at a "deluxe" resort that has a Holiday Inn pool. Great. Again - yes - rehabs happen, but had they given me more notice, I would have changed my plans and those of my guests. Now, it is FAR too late.
Yes - I know there are those who will say "but you get to go to BCV". Sure - you walk over to BCV at 8pm only to be told that the pool closes at 8pm because it is considered a "water park" and they hours are limited. My family LOVES to go to the BWV pool at about 7:30pm (right before the slide closes) and then hang in the hot tub and take a couple trips down the slide - rain, cold, warm - no matter. But, if we have to walk around the lake to do it - that is not an option. So much for my deluxe resort... Or gee... it is really convenient to get on suits, walk to BVC, swim, then walk all the way back. Fun fun. Not fair. Not considerate. I am completely annoyed that a trip I planned 11 months in advance is really distrupted 6 weeks out.
