Hi all..we are going to be at BLT 8/19-8/27. We love to come back to our resort after lunch and hang out at the pool. When we have stayed at SSR, we never had a problem finding a pool chair..or even a table..at the Grandstand pool. Does anyone know how crowded the pool is at BLT in the early afternoons? Will we have a shot at two chairs or a table? Thanks!!

Not sure about over the summer, but when we were there in May there was always plenty of empty chairs at the BLT pool area.

But in the rare instance it would be full, you can always walk over to the CR pool (which isn't very far away) and try your luck there.

I agree...CR pool is a short walk and has more room. DW and I really liked the round pool at the water's edge.

Saving chairs at a pool with towels has become a "pet peeve" of mine. However, I'll admit it, I have become one of the "chair saving" people just to survive and to keep a place to sit.:confused3 My new "pet peeve" is simple now. When you're done, put your towels in the used towel bin. I was just at BLT and to answer the original post, we went to the parks everyday and hit the pool around 2 or 3. Almost every chair had a towel on it but it didn't look like there were enough people around. I just wish when the people we're done and leaving the pool, they would put their towels away. I evenutally took a chance and removed towels from a chair that looked abandoned.

We also walked over to the main Contempory pool and there was plenty of chairs.

We were just there last Wednesday and at noon there was just one lone chair unreserved. Even the bar tables and chairs were taken. I wasn't happy about the situation as most chairs simply had towels laid across them and I wanted to swim at the DVC pool.

DD and I gave up looking like the odd ones out and walked over to the Contemporary pool where we found a number of chairs open, but they were pretty packed too. This worked out better than I thought though: the Contemporary pool was nice and quiet for swimming without bumping into others and they were having the "pool party" for the kids, so we had entertainment too (one young boy almost lost his swim trunks twice while determined to win at hula hoop :rotfl:)

When we were staying at BLT in early March, there was one warm day and the pool filled up that afternoon. We still felt it was too cool to use the pool but staked out some chairs to enjoy some people watching. Half of the pool was in the shade. We were shivering in the shade and moved to the sun. After 30 minutes, we noticed a family looking for chairs, everything was full in the sun, empty in the shade and so we gave up our chairs to them and returned to our villa. Might as well let those using the pool have somewhere warm to dry off.

Based on that experience I think that at times there will be a shortage of available chairs at the Cove Bay Pool. But like another poster mention you always have the option of going over to the CR's pool.

We just got back this morning from BLT.

We spent Monday, Tuesday, & Wednesday afternoons this week by the pool. We never had a problem getting a table and chairs. In fact, we were able to get the same table (under the covered area by the pool bar) each day.
