Pool Activities?

Can anyone tell me about the pool activities at any of the 3 Universal resorts?
I would like to know as specifically as possible, if they play games- what games?
Do they have trivia like they do at Disney? If so, what kind?
Do they show movies? What movies do they show?
Do they have any kind of campfire?

Does anything special go on at the pools that people may not know about?

I have a five year old son, but also traveling with adults.

when you check in, your booklet will give all the info on the pool activities.
it lists times and events.

i'd have to pull up my last years booklet to tell you what was available on the dates i went.

it does change and what was happening when i was there, might not be when you go.

one person was excited for the hula hoop contests on their upcoming visit.
after they were there, they found out that activity was no longer part of the schedule of events.

so, what activities that have been available, might not when you go.

We didn't get the booklet. Whatever activities they did, they announced ahead of time - sometimes as much as 30 minutes. A lot of the contests were for ice cream (kids) or cocktails (adults). Some had prizes from a prize box - not sure what those were.

We were RPR for a few days only but we saw:
splash contests
hula hoop
corn hole (though they called it something else)
volleyball
Movie night - Dive in Movie @ 8:30 each evening - Harry Potter movies - early ones - I think #2 and can't remember what the other one was...

I don't know if they did a campfire - I didn't see one. They do have a fire pit which was lit at night. There is also a pool table by the bar.

When I was at RPR in October of 2008 there were adult trivia games that were men against women. There might have been kids mixed in there but if there were they were mellow. We won necklaces or bracelets that were a brown color beads. It was at night and very fun. I came home with a bracelet and a necklace.

So happy to hear that! A little over a week and you'll be there - I would be giddy. I have 7 weeks from today. Pre giddy.

I am so stinking excited for our stay especially knowing there are pool activities. We've never stayed on site at Universal and now I'm kind of wishing we were staying 5 nights there and 2 nights at Disney instead of the other way around.
