I will flying for the first time on southwest and I am wondering if my husband and I will fit ok in the seats and be comfortable ? We will also have our daughter in the middle of us.

If you go to Southwest's site and search for their Customer of Size policy, it's extremely detailed and should answer all your questions as well as offering advice. One important point it makes is that EVERY passenger is entitled to a full seat, including small/slender passengers.

If I remember correctly the seats are 17" wide. As the previous poster mentioned Southwest has a detailed policy on their website. Definately read through it and plan accordingly.

Remember you can't count on 100% having your daughter next to you .

Yes people may be nice about it BUT if Southwest thinks you take more than one seat the "my child will be beside me" doesn't fly with them. That is what I was referring to.

Read through SW's info and be calm.

My husband has been up to 340 at 5'10" and has never been required (or even asked) to buy a second seat. He's lost enough now that he's only requiring half an inch worth of the seatbelt extender on some airlines (on other airlines he's done with extenders), yay. But even before that, he's never needed to buy another seat.

It's good to know the rules, but NOT good to worry yourself over them.
