That's OK stinkerbelle not everyone understands my ugly car love. ;)

I really like it though, it's been great to drive in the bad weather even without the all wheel drive versatrek & I love the back hatch because I can fit a TON of stuff in it because of the shape. We went to Ikea with my mom and sister and we all bought a bunch of stuff, they couldn't believe I fit it all in the back without even folding the rear seats. I really love it, it's a great car, heck you can even turn the back into a tent if you want. lol

My kids think that they are "neat", but Sue and I agree that they are ugly cars. All I know is that they gave a couple away on Survivor last year. And looks aren't everything.

There are two cars that I consider ugly, the Aztec is one of them, but it's not as ugly as the Honda Element (I think that's the name). To me the Element looks like a mini-hearse.

The Aztec has got to be the UGLIEST vehicle ever designed. I don't know what they were thinking. We were at a dealership a couple of years ago, looking at cars. My DH saw the Aztec on display in the lot and asked the salesman "How many of those have you sold?" His answer? "One." DH asks, "one per week or one per month?" The salesman answers, "Just one, sir." LOL :p

MIL has one and just upgraded to a newer one with OnStar and a DVD player and some other features. She loves it! We always tease her about the ugly car, but it is really nice to drive. I also find the backseat to be roomier than my Explorer which is a plus with DD and her car seat.

I've often wondered how this "car" ever made it to production.

With all of the layers of management involved in the process of designing/building a car, surely somebody asked "are we serious about this thing?"

Ugly. I heard this is the last year for them, so buy them up and store them in your back yard. Could be the next Edsel.;)

I have driven a Blazer 4 years, Explorer 6 yrs, Jimmy 3 yrs and now have an Aztek. I loved the Blazer and Explorer hated the Jimmy.
I have had my Aztek since November. It is an orange, all wheel drive rally edition and I love it. I love that it doesn't look like everyone elses vehicle. I love that it is a much more comfortable ride than any of my other SUV's and the DD's tell me there is way more room in the back seat. I love that it doesn't have that sloping rear window so more tall stuff fits in the back. I loved the price. I love that it doesn't look more like a van as many SUV's do now. I love that it still looks rugged not all citified as many SUV's do now.
The Aztek is for someone who wants to take a step away from the ordinary without paying an arm or leg. The only other vehicle I liked and I test drove alot was the vibe but it just isn't big enough for us. With one daughter 7 and 1/2 hours away in college and the other going next year we needed something we could haul stuff in.
In short, the longer I have my Aztek the more I love it and the way it looks.

Forget about the looks - I just don't buy GM cars anymore after being bit so bad with lemons. And this is from someone who spent time growing up in Detroit, worked for a subsidiary of GM and swore I would only buy American cars.

I switched to Honda's and it's been a joy to own a car for 10 years and NOT have to do any major repairs. I really thought it was normal to have to be towed (sometimes as much as 150 miles) when the car breaks down at least once or twice a year.

I used to own two GM cars and one was usually in being repaired. I had to have a backup car. Isn't that ridiculous. I really hope they have gotten better in the past 15 years, but they got a second chance from me once but do NOT get a third EVER.

I had an Accord (10 years) and an Odyssey (7 years) and have never spend any money on repairs except for maintenance things like regular oil changes, battery, tires, brakes, etc.

The resale value holds up very well too. I sold my 10 year old Honda for the same thing that I sold my 3 1/2 year old GM luxury car for and the GM car cost twice as much new.
