Where can I find the best cheap ponchos to bring for our trip. Our dollar store ones rip too easily.
Recommendations?

Just looking for disposable ones, so I can bring a bunch and toss them after we use them (if we have to use them)

I’ve never liked ponchos, personally. I find a nice rain jacket is not only reusable but also much more comfortable and easier to move around in. I got one years ago from Target for like $30.

Yeah,
Not a huge fan either, but I like that they can fit in your pocket and you can just toss them if they are cheap. I'm not one for lugging stuff around the park. I'm good with my Magic Band and maybe a water bottle.

I have a nice Marmot rain jacket but I prefer the cheap disposables ones in the park. The ones that are about the same size as a couple stacked credit cards.

First I must say I am in the poncho camp.
I had always been in the DISNEY poncho camp until I found these.
They have actual sleeves and even a drawstring hood.
They are throw away so of course they are not the best quality but they are way thicker than your usual emergency rain poncho.
I'm going in July and am bringing a bunch of these and tossing a few in my bag each day.

Fellow Phillies fan here...in fact literally drinking coffee from my Phillies mug as I write this.

The WalMart dollar ponchos really don't rip easily unless you're abusive to them. Otherwise, I agree that the Ozark Trail ones that are $3-$5 (Amazon and others have them too) are a thicker plastic. They're basically the same as the complete rip offs that Disney sells you for $20 or whatever.

We buy multiples of the walmart 1$ ones and pitch them as they rip or when we just don't want to deal with them anymore. Get a new one out during trip if needed.

Lol- I always laughed at poncho people... until our last visit (last July) when it rained every afternoon. Second day, we bought the Disney ones. $15 each. We’re bringing them back this year with us. Too expensive to toss. But honestly, with just two people, it was no big deal at all to hang them in the bathroom to dry at night then fold them to bring back in the afternoon. Way less inconvenient then I expected it to be. But now I have to get a backpack to carry those darn things in.... never was one of those people either... sigh... the things you do during Disney summers...

If you tear the Disney poncho, we have been able to swap it out for a new one for free.

I wouldn't know-we bought ponchos at WDW about 18 years ago and bring them every trip. They still haven't ripped yet, and yet they've been used over and over and....We're among the ones with the yellow ponchos with the picture of Mickey on the back. A pretty good buy!

Although this little boy isn't at WDW, nor us, his poncho is the same.

We still have some of them, one or two of the tan one from AK and several different clear ones from various years. It always seems like we forget the darned ponchos when we need them.

As others have said, if you purchase the Disney ones and they rip, they will replace them free of charge. For the most part we've been doing that for years. So while it is a more expensive cost up front, the value over the lifetime of the poncho from our perspective has been worth it! I guess that may change if Disney changes the design on the poncho?! lol

We used the wal-mart $.97 cent ponchos and they rip but we use them once and throw them away - we found an umbrella was often very useful

Okay just back from a rainy week.

IMHO,

Disney or heavy duty ponchos if you are "parking" all day in the rain.

Cheap disposable ones to get through batches of showers or to use on water rides(if preferred)

Don’t know if they still sell them but a few years ago we bought great ponchos at IKEA. Red check or black, long enough for those gullywashers.. We wore them last May when it rained and rained and got envious looks. The hood is elastic too so it snugs your head which kept rain off our hair. They are the best.
