Ponchos?

I get ours at our local Dollar General for, you guessed it, a dollar. In the last 2 years we have only worn them once and they are disposable. I found them durable for the hour or so that we wore them. I don't like being soaked by rain but I'm not one of the people who wear ponchos on Kali River Rapids. I usually pack 3 for each of us and if we run out, we run out. Plus. I am not carrying 3 rain jackets in our park bag, I like to keep it light.

First I must say I am in the poncho camp.
I had always been in the DISNEY poncho camp until I found these.
They have actual sleeves and even a drawstring hood.
They are throw away so of course they are not the best quality but they are way thicker than your usual emergency rain poncho.
I'm going in July and am bringing a bunch of these and tossing a few in my bag each day.

Thanks for this recommendation! We just received them from Amazon today. We, too, like to just throw a few compact ones in our park bag and throw away after use. These look like one step up from dollar store ones but at about the same price. Thanks!

I think that the Disney ones are one and done. I think Diane will replace them when they rip.

Lol- I always laughed at poncho people... until our last visit (last July) when it rained every afternoon. Second day, we bought the Disney ones. $15 each. We’re bringing them back this year with us. Too expensive to toss. But honestly, with just two people, it was no big deal at all to hang them in the bathroom to dry at night then fold them to bring back in the afternoon. Way less inconvenient then I expected it to be. But now I have to get a backpack to carry those darn things in.... never was one of those people either... sigh... the things you do during Disney summers...
We got ours at cape Canaveral same thing tgough.. we also brought one of those cheap drawstring bags everyone gives out from home, its great for anything you want to keep separate.

Prior to these
the army navy store has great ones

Our favorite days at Disney are the rainy ones!!! Coleman brand ponchos (Walmart camping aisle). They are more durable than the dollar store ones, but still only like $7. They can fold into a quart size ziplock, so fit nicely in our small backpack. They also have short sizes for kids.

Okay just back from a rainy week.

IMHO,

Disney or heavy duty ponchos if you are "parking" all day in the rain.

Cheap disposable ones to get through batches of showers or to use on water rides(if preferred)
We were there 6/15-6/20 and had a considerable amount of rain too. The cheap Amazon ones aren't as comfortable with a lot of rain, stick to your skin and don't dry out as well as the Disney ones, which we eventually bought. Some members of our group had ones from REI, which were really nice.

Another vote for the $10 10-pack on Amazon. We always throw one in our respective park bags as they don't take up that much room. I can see how it would get bulky for a large family where one person was stuck with the bag, though.

*I also carry an umbrella in my bag that doubles as a parasol when it's too sunny.
