Ponchos

I want to buy Dollar store ponchos because they're cheap and they seem like they pack smaller. But do they work well enough? And can you use them more than once? Thanks!

yes you can wear them again but they rip very easy... they are like cheap thin trashbags. We are not buying the again to bring..because we go in the summer and need them daily..

They always take up more room in your backback after they have been used.

to Target or WalMart. The ponchos are a little more expensive but re easier to reuse. I use these when I go camping with my son's troop and we are able to resue.

They are also packed very tightly.

The dollar store near us sells two packs of the really cheap, thin ponchos. They keep the rain off and you don't mind carrying them. We bought extra's figuring if they are really crappy we can toss them.

You can never fold them back up in those little packets.

They have a magical power....If you carry around the ponchos it will not rain. If you leave them in the room it will pour buckets.

They are fine as long as it is not pouring for days. We experienced a 'history-making' weather event 2 years ago (11.5 inches of rain during our trip!) and had to go purchase better ones. We got some for $5 at Walgreen's that had Disney characters on the back. They were much better for re-use than the Dollar store ones.

I have several of the inexpensive $1 kind we bought in the camping section at walmart, keep them packed just in case and figure easy to carry just in case and have never needed them. Also figure not out much if we use and toss. I did buy one of the $5 character ones for myself in the local Walmart when down in WDW on our last visit and have not used it either, but it was predicting heavy rain that we never got.

Check out the weather predictions for your vacation time, get a few of the $1 ones for just in case, never know when you would need them anyway. If they are predicting really heavy rains, you might want to invest before you leave or like I did, try to find a character poncho at the walmart close to WDW, they has adult and kids sizes then. Either way, we do not let the rain stop our fun.

The cheap ones are great to have "just in case," but not reallly to use more than once. I get the ones from Target's camping section - they're folded down even smaller than the ones from Dollar Tree, and you can easily put one in a pocket or purse. They're about $1.

I'd recommend buying a little more expensive poncho if you're going during a rainy time. I got some ponchos at Target for about $8, and they were great and easy to re-use. They're made of more substantial material than the cheapie ponchos -- they cheap ones are very "clingy" when wet, and stick to your body, especially your legs, while you're walking. I felt like I had to pick away the plastic from my legs just about every step - very irritating!

You can also buy the WDW ponchos - they're around $8 each and meant to be reused.

dollar store crap... dont bother, just use a garbage bag at that point... Buy a decent poncho from a sporting goods store. Keep it for a lifetime!
