I have yet to find a poncho for my nearly 2 yr old. I've just been searching in local/chain stores. Anyone know of a chain store that might sell them, or do they carry them somewhere in WDW?

Thanks!::MinnieMo

I couldn't find them for children when we went last year, so I ended up using the adult ones from the dollar store believe it or not and just tied it up in a knot in the back and it worked! Both my 2 & 4 year olds stayed dry every afternoon when we had to break them out!! :beach:

I never used them for my kids at that age because they were usually in a stroller, so the stroller rain cover kept them dry.

If you really feel you need one for your little one, you probably will need to cut one down. Even a child size would probably be too big for a 2 yr old.

Maybe try onestepahead?

When I was asking about rain gear for my DS (he wil be almost 2 when we go). Somone on the DIS recommended (if you have a stroller) using an adult poncho. You put it over your childs head and the front of the poncho will cover your son and the stroller and the back of the poncho can be drapped over the back of the stroller. So it does double duty covering your child and the stroller if it rains. You may have to roll the hood up a bits ot doesn'tcover his eyes. But it sounds good to me!

For $1, I'd buy the adult size and take scissors to it, honestly!;)

Target sometimes has the child sized ones in their camping section. They will still be big on a 2 year old, and they were sold out at mine right now. All of our local GS going to day camp have wiped them out!

I would consider a regular raincoat or waterproof jacket instead of a poncho for a 2yo. My dd's weren't comfy in a poncho until 5/6yo and a raincoat that small will fold up almost as small as a poncho.

IMHO a stroller rain cover is a must, dd's were comfy and dry in the stroller. Remember to cover it in the afternoon when parking it for a while to ride, those afternoon storms pop up quick and cank soak a stroller in a heartbeat.

We got the one at Disney for our 3-year-old and it was just right. For a 2-year-old I would probably use the child size also, but tie up the bottom a little so they don't trip over it. I did not get one for me baby, he was 14 months old and in the stroller, and he didn't even seem to care about the rain! He is a very content baby and was happy in the stroller covered up. But my 3-year-old, even though he rode in the stroller too, insisted on a poncho! He looked so cute!

Get some from Target and experiment cutting the bottom...they are only like $0.89 each.

Thanks for the feedback! I bought a child size one at Wal-Mart and I'll either tie it back, or trim it. I have an adult sized one for her umbrella stroller, which should be just right. She has a little raincoat, but she really can't stand wearing it. She was amused by the poncho though, when we tried it on. So, we'll stick with that somehow.:umbrella:

My dollar store has kids ones (winnie the pooh and spider man currently) If you are still looking

Target used to carry the Coleman Kids ones for $.99 but they stopped carrying them. I needed more for this years trip so I went to the Coleman website and they had them!!! I ordered 5 for this year's trip. Just a word of warning, you can't pick the colors. Luckily I have a girl because out of the 5, 3 were pink! (2 bright pink and 1 light pink). BTW, they worked out to be about $2/piece with shipping.

I know it's been almost a month since I started this thread, but just today I found a Disney princess poncho at 5 Below. It has a picture of Belle, Aurora, and Cinderella, and outlined pictures of crowns, roses, and other princessy things. It comes with three markers (purple,pink,blue) to color in the outlined pictures. It was five bucks, which is the highest price at that store, but w/ the markers for coloring, it's pretty unique AND much more size appropriate than anything else I was able to find.:flower2:

Id get a rain suit for your 2 year old. I had ponchos for my trip and they sucked. I have a rain cover for the stroller but my 21 month old kept poking his head out of it. So I just got him a rain coat. The suit will keep you dry and some of them will fold up just as small as a poncho!!! BTW, we were there though TS Faye!!!

It was at the corner of an aisle and on a rack that had umbrellas. It wasn't really close to the toys. It was towards hair accessories. (Hope that helps..)
