Poly's Tangaroa Terrace...

On Tikiman's FB page there's a post that says "What is coming to the Tangaroa Terrace". Any idea what's going on?? Where is Tangaroa Terrace? I know very little about the Polynesian Property other than we're staying there in 5+ months and no idea how this will affect us during our stay!

Wasn't that the name of the old TS restaurant at the POLY?

It was a restaurant that closed in the mid 90's. I don't see it affecting your trip.

It's in the same building as Lilos play house. So it faces the quiet pool, sort of. It seems like a great location and I can't believe they just let it sit empty. In December we actually saw lights on a the curtains were pulled back. It needs A LOT of work. It's bad 70s decor, not cool retro 70s

So its that little building to the right of Rarotonga and to the left of Pago Pago? Or is it that longer building closer to Hawaii?

Yeah it's gone through several iterations over the years. It's been a restaurant, an arcade, the temporary location for Capt. Cook's when they were refurbing it, and several other things. It is a shame it sits mostly unused right now. I was hoping that it would be the location for Trader Sam's when that was announced years ago. I'm definitely interested to see what turns up there if they are in fact doing something with it finally. I'm sure Tikiman could shed more light on the history of the Tangaroa Terrace if he is around. But I know he is not permitted to share what he knows about the future plans for it unfortunately

Capt Cooks is too small but the new QS at the quiet pool is there now so I doubt they would turn it into that. I thought I saw a rumor when they did all the construction that they were making a signature restaurant. That would be a great addition.
