Polynesian vs Contemporary August

We currently have reservations (9 nights) at the Poly (standard view) for August. But after reading Tikiman's current review of the construction, I'm not sure I want to stay there in August. I thought it was just the east pool being refurbished, but it sounds like it will be major construction at the pool in addition to buildings being added. Sooooo, Contemporary garden wing (standard) is our other option. Any reviews on the Garden wing? It just looks so…. boring. Can anyone sell me on it? Also, I was watching some videos, I didn't see any sort of dresser, are there any drawers for your clothes? I like to completely unpack. TIA

I like the Garden Wing. The rooms are nice. I don't remember having issues with unpacking (I unpack everything as well). I kind of like how it's separate from the main hotel but you can just walk over there easily. We had a nice room overlooking the pool area and the lake, it was really pretty.

The Poly is our family's favorite resort but we won't be staying there again until the construction is completely done. Not after what I've seen on Tikiman's facebook site. What a mess. Honestly, I think it's ridiculous that they kept the resort open while that much construction is going on. People that are reporting that the construction was not a distraction have me a little confused. I've seen photos and video showing heavy equipment moving through the grounds and the sounds of hammering and power tools being used. Actually after seeing the results so far of what they've done, I'm not even sure it will continue to be our favorite resort. I am reserving final judgment until I see the completed resort though. With that being said, we too are staying at the Contemporary this summer. Our family is actually very excited about it as we will be staying Theme Park View in the Tower, something we've always dreamed of (got a good pin code!) I've read many reports from people that have stayed in the Garden Wing and most seemed to really enjoy their stay there. I think they offer very good access to the pool areas and marina and are only a short walk to the main building.
