Polynesian Villas- what to eat

I've got a short stay at the Polynesian Villas. Will have part of one day and evening at the resort before being in the parks for the rest of the trip. Any not-to-miss food suggestions that day/evening?

apps and drinks at Trader Sam's!

Trader Sam's!! My DH and I literally spend HOURS at that place. Get there before it opens so you have your choice of seating in the extremely tiny place. They have really great, although expensive, drinks and super yummy appetizers (but my DH and I make a meal out of them).

You can also take the monorail over to Grand Floridian or Contemporary and try out the options there.

Well, no, there is nothing so special that I would say it is 'not-to-miss'.

But Polynesian is a lovely resort and the restaurant Kona serves very good breakfast, lunch, and dinner.

Trader Sam's is a lovely cocktail lounge.

Given your question - If Kona is open, I'd eat there, otherwise, you can grab a small plate or so at Trader Sam's.

We enjoyed the outdoor deck at Trader Sam's more than the inside. It was a gorgeous 80 degree day in January when we visited so couldn't see the point of sitting inside. The bar tender was not in for some reason so all they could serve was wine and that Dole drink mixed with rum. Wine and a couple appetizers made it a dinner for us. It was fun watching the activity at the marina.

At Poly:
-Trader Sam's as a first choice for drinks and apps
-Kona has a decent size menu, though I didn't really care for the ambiance
-Tambu Lounge for apps and dessert, if you can get a seat

Monorail to Contemporary:
-California Grill for a larger meal, or just apps, drinks, and dessert
