Hi all,

I am heading down to WDW this summer, yay!! I am planning a split stay starting off at Beach club and then deciding between Poly standard room vs the Contemporary deluxe room in the garden wing. I've stayed at the Poly before and never stayed at the Contemporary. Can anyone give me any suggestions/advice as I'm really conflicted between the larger quieter room at the Contemporary vs the great theming at the Polynesian?

The deluxe room at Cr is so unique. It has a shower and a traditional tub/shower.

There are only 3 and really a primo location. Close to main building and pool.

Normally I’d pick poly over Cr for std but the deluxe is on my bucket list. I arrived for it once and was upgraded to CL! They were washing windows that day. I was disappointed until I had free wine . :drinking1:goodvibes

Although both are great options and you’ll have a great time either way!

Agree the Poly is great.

We stayed in a deluxe room at Beach Club once and loved it. It was so nice to get that extra space. I just looked at the pics on line of the Contemporary room and it looks so cool, especially the bathroom.

Besides the walking path to MK, you also get the boat to Ft. Wilderness with easy access to Hoop De Doo review. You could also take the boat to Wilderness Lodge and do the new Snow White character dining.

Very difficult but fun decision. Have a great time!

Thanks!! I've been trying to get a reservation for Storybook Dining but no luck:(

I think every Disney fan should stay at the contemporary at least once. I stayed at bay lake tower a couple of weeks ago, and I felt like I was stepping back in time to the Walt Disney World of my childhood. I felt like I had stared at that resort for literally decades, and finally staying there was just...neat. For lack of a better word.

I do love the Poly though, and I will say the Contemporary can be kind of a pain if you go to Epcot often. The trip home from Epcot can take a looooong time. The monorail transfer and double security check can be annoying, but my kids are 2 and 5, and the monorail was one of the most exciting parts of the trip for them, so we didn’t mind as much. Walking to the MK made up for the inconvenience of getting to and from Epcot. The evening we wanted to go see illuminations, we just took and Uber to beach club and walked in through the IG.

How many of you are staying in the room? As long as a standard room wouldn't be cramped for the number of people, I'd pick Polynesian for a summer trip due to the better pools.

It would be just me and my daughter:) We are doing most of the parks at the beginning and wanted to relax and enjoy some quiet time before returning home on the last leg of our trip. I realize most people prefer the Polynesian for the theming but was wondering between the two resorts do you think the Contemporary will be quieter/more relaxing between the two?

Neither one is quiet in terms of not too many people around. They're both busy resorts because they're on the monorail. I like the theming of both resorts. But for a summer trip I'd probably choose the Poly for its pools. Unless you'd like to rent a cabana at the Contemporary pool for a day. That would really be relaxing.

I felt like the outside part of the Contemporary (namely the pool area) was pretty quiet. That was the middle of the day in July. I liked sitting there looking over Bay Lake.
