Polynesian Room vs Villa Studio

I just totaled my July stay up for a Studio and it's all of $37.11 difference between 3 nights in a standard view room and a standard view deluxe studio. (The studio is only $37.11 more.) hmmm....

ah. thanks for clarifying, hopefully. i thought juliet balcony was a euphemism for a patio door that opens but no actual patio, and i thought this was the setup in second floor rooms.

Just for a visual so we’re all on the same page....same sliding glass door as first and second (edit, meant third) floor rooms, just with the balcony rail RIGHT up next to the glass.

I would do the Vila if its just the $75 for the entire stay.

Its so nice to have a kitchenette especially with kids, the sofa takes up so much less room than the additional queen giving us more living space (love not having to sit on beds to watch tv) and with a 2yo you can either use the twin size murphy bed with rails or have extra room for the PNP.

If your booking a traditional Disney reservation vs using/renting points then you do get daily housekeeping just as you would in a traditional room.
I also like the locations of the DVC vilas at the Polynesian over the traditional rooms but that is just my preference :)

sorry I misread the OP - with a 4 year old the murphy would be perfect!

I’ve stayed in both Poly regular rooms and villas, and for a couple with a four year old, I would go with the villa. Is your daughter a Lilo and Stitch fan? The small Murphy bed will be the ideal size for her, and when down, it has an adorable mural of Lilo and Stitch in a hammock on the wall side. Plus it has it’s own lighting — it would be like her own little vacation sanctuary. That would leave you the sofa/chair/coffe table area as your extra living space.

For the parents, the extra shower is fabulous. It is absolutely lovely with an overhead rain shower head. I never wanted to leave it. Plus the sink in the shower-only bath provides extra getting-ready space in case another person needs to use the facilities located in the other bathroom, if you get the “drift.” (Sorry!)

With the villa, you would be guaranteed your own outdoor space (patio or balcony). The only drawback I could see is the the 20% chance of getting a dreaded Pago Pago parking lot view. I would request “Tokelau or Moorea” and hope for the best.

This is one decision where you can’t go wrong. Hope you have a great trip!

Edited to correct the info about the Murphy bed mural.

Here’s a pic of the Murphy bed, if that helps:

I think the little Murphy bunk is adorable! We’re going next month and it’ll be perfect for our 4 year old. If you use the Murphy bunk you won’t have to pull out the sofa bed and will have more space.

No doubt Villa over standard room for $75 difference. The extra shower is really nice when getting in late at night or up early in the morning.

And from personal experience those Murphy beds will actually sleep a full size adult if neededo_O. By far our favorite resort and rooms so hope you enjoy!!

For $75 total I would do it. Extra bathroom space plus kitchenette is worth it IMO.
