Polynesian...request what longhouse???

Hi all,
We have a garden view room reserved for our upcoming stay. I have been reading a lot and looking at Tikiman's website trying to figure out the "perfect" longhouse to request...I know its not guaranteed, but I need to try at least. We have 2 boys (5 and 3). We need a non-smoking building. The double sink thing isnt the biggest thing for us. I think location is the most important. I also would like a longhouse that is completely refurbished it possible. With all that being said....I think Samoa is looking good for us, especially if we could get the garden view looking at the Volcano pool. I would love to hear others experiences or opinions on this! We had a stunning view of MK from the Tuvalu longhouse, but it's a longer walk to the Ceremonial House or the Monorail. If you have small children, a lesser walk might be a consideration.

I am thinking of requesting Raratonga this year, since it's closer to the above mentioned places. And we don't really spend a whole lot of time in the room, so the view isn't a major factor. And I believe the refurbs are complete on all longhouses now.

Instead of starting another thread, I hope you don't mind if I ask another related question within yours?

When is the best time to fax inventory control for a longhouse request... is it still 3 days out??

We stayed in Raratongo this May and loved the location. All of the rooms have been completed. We were on the ground floor, which we also loved. We were able to be outside while the girls (3 1/2 and 21 months) napped, and when they went to bed at night if it was still too early for us. DH was able to just walk from our patio to get us drinks or snacks without disturbing the girls. We were facing the quiet pool, but there was quite a bit of foliage to give us some privacy (I believe our room was 1807), however there is enough grass between the sidewalk and the rooms that unless you are on the very end you wont feel "exposed" at all.

Raratongo is right next to the GCH, and not too far of a walk to TTC. We have said that if we ever renurn to the POLY, that we will request Raratonge, ground floor again.
