I e-mailed the IPO staff for Poly and WL and they told me to look at Tikiman's website.

Well, they had the website address wrong.

They couldn't answer my questions so I am going to ask them here.

Is anyone familiar with Sunset Point?

Is anone familiar with the banquet facilities at the Poly?

Sorry if I sound frustrated. I didn't think it would be this hard to get an answer from someone at WDW.

I thought it was kind of funny that they told me to look at Tikiman's website. They must really love you Tikiman!:sunny:

Whoops, I forgot to ask what it is you'd like to know, FloridaFam!

Sunset Point is the raised bit of land that extends above and between the main beach and the quieter east beach, immediately north (toward the lagoon) of Tokelau. It's a very popular and picturesque spot for an intimate wedding.

The banquet facility is in a building that was formerly a restaurant (Tangaroa Terrace), and is now only open for private functions.

Are you wanting to plan a wedding or a party here?

We got married at Sunset Pointe in 2000 and I can honestly say that it was PERFECT!!!!!!!

I don't know about the banquet facilities because we had our wedding dinner in O'Hana's.

Hope that helps!!

Thank you for all of the replies.

sugarplumsmom,

Glad to hear it was beautiful. I'm sure you had a beautiful wedding.

I've been searching for pictures of the banquet rooms at the Poly but can't seem to find any.

I was told there is a location called Tangerorra Terrace that is used as a back up in case of rain. Has anyone ever heard of this?

Thanks in advance.:sunny:

Yes, I have also seen events (including weddings) taking place on Sunset Point. One of them was a cocktail affair replete with a small chamber music trio. Very cool. . . Did you try to call the resort directly and ask to speak with an event planner at the resort? There is banquet planning office there I believe and I'm sure there must be someone there, or perhaps dining, that can assist you.

Tangaroa Terrace is a large, but not overly huge, facility located in the same building as The Neverland Club and the Moana Mickey Arcade. There is a separate entrance for the Terrace room. I've seen class reunions, wedding receptions, small business gatherings, etc. occurring when we've stayed.

If IPO refused to give you information, I would write (or phone) back and politely request that they find the name of someone who will be able to assist you. These folks (most of them) have the information at their fingertips and if not, can certainly locate the information you desire. There are 2 concierge managers and if you want their names, I'll be happy to give them to you--PM me. I also believe there is a person in IPO that can help you or point you in the right direction--let me know if you want names!
