I don't know if any of you venture into the DIS accommodation board but there's a thread about bargain rooms at the Polynesian for Labor Day 2015. I decided to contact the travel agent in question and got a quote for 9 nights garden view room only at the Poly next August (20th to 29th) for $2015 (about £1200 at today's rates)!!!!

That's 55% of the Disney USA price and about £2100 less than the Disney UK price!!!

Better still I was able to pay a $200 deposit now by credit card with the rest due no later than 45 days before we check in.

The only restrictions are no dining plan can be added (at that sort of price I don't care tbh) and changes must be done via the travel agent, which is no issue for me.

Have a look here and if you can't find it I'll PM you the info :). The agency in question should have a Facebook page when you google the search terms so that should get you to the right place.

Forum rules mean it can't be posted properly :(

How did you get around the issue of entering a state?

I just picked one at random :rotfl2: I think I chose Florida

I don't think it matters and my booking went through fine and is showing on MDE on the Disney website so they didn't mind either :cool1:

Myself, my wife, our four year old daughter and our son who is 8 months old.

In case you don't have any luck with a response I can recommend the specific agent who helped us. Let me know if you need details :)

That's an amazing price!,
We did 16 nights at the poly last October --November before all the construction,I loved it!
If we hadn't booked for Akl and the cruise in may,I'd have snapped up this offer.

From the travel agency's home page you can select the different agents individually. Ours was the lady whose name is the same as a type of fortified wine alcoholic beverage from France :)

If that is too cryptic I'll pm it to you instead :)

I agree, it's an amazing price. It seems to be in proportion with our price of $2015 for 9 nights.

Big BIG shout out to Nabby for starting this thread. I don't often come on the Dis Boards but really glad I did today :-)

We booked our hotel 4 weeks ago for August 2015. I always ask my friend who is a performer at WDW to make our reservations as he gets a 40% discount.

So I booked the flights first, and then asked him to log in a book us into the Polynesian. He got back to me that there were NO rooms at the Poly at cast member rate. NOOOOO!!! I have no idea why but it must be something to do with the work they've got going on there. I booked The Contemporary with him instead, 22 nights for $7,560. That was a cheaper rate than we got via him for the Poly in 2013. Since then we've been looking at YouTube vids of The Contemporary and although it's somewhere i've always wanted to stay, the whole vibe of the place just felt a little 'cold' unlike the warm feel of the Poly.

So then I read this thread this morning and contacted the agents you are talking about. Wow, just WOW!!! 23 nights at the Poly for $5,640. $2,000 cheaper than the cast member discount rate at Contemporary.

Suffice to say, that's being cancelled and we can get excited once again for The Polynesian, my favourite hotel ever. Just hope it's not still a building site by then ;-) At least the main pool will be complete.

Anyway, I rambled a little here when all I really wanted to say was:

Thank you Nabby!!!!!

:cheer2:

Dene

Hi Dene,

You give me far too much credit!!!! I just wanted to let people on here know that there was a deal about in case they didn't venture into the DIS accommodation board.

Anyway, I'm happy you (and everyone else who booked) got such a great deal and it was kind of you to post your thanks in such an effusive way :)

Happy planning!!!!

Neil

We have already booked yacht club for next August but I contacted this company and if we book room only and buy our 14 day tickets separately we will save over over £2k. Will we really eat over £2000 worth of food between us? I don't think so.....
