Polynesian Magic

Another Poly love here....I think my love for the Poly is more of a sentimental thing - I stayed there the first year WDW opened when I was 5 and it became my family's "place". We never stayed anywhere else on our family trips to Disney and now that I have a family of my own it has become our special place as well. There have been years where we've had to stay at WL or others due to our budget and I have to say the WL runs a close second for me - but there is still nothing like the Poly.

I love being able to sit out on the balcony in the morning and hear the whistle of the train and howl of the wolf from HM and realize I'm in the entertaiment capital of the world but you would never know it because of how peaceful things are.

I love the convenience of the monorail - especially with the little ones! And you can't beet getting from the Poly to the MK in 10 minutes!

I love the smell when you first walk into the GCH - humid and tropical and the sounds of the beautiful waterfalls splashing down.

I love walking at night by the light of the tiki torches hearing the polynesian music

I love watching wishes and the ELP from the beach in a hammock

I could go on and on but as others have said - you really need to just stay there once to feel the Poly magic. But, be careful! It's addictive!

It's my heaven on earth!

Aloha!

What a trully wonderfull post! If that can't get you to stay at the Poly, nothing will. I thought I had descibed my experience at the Poly pretty good and what it meant to me and my family. but you blew me away with that great post! What a wonderfull childhood you must of had and that's so cool that you can pass it along to your own children. Once again, GOOD JOB! :cool1: :cheer2:

Here is my suggestion and I hope it helps. The Poly has large rooms with very comfortable queen beds and the day bed is comfortable for kids, so here is what I would do if I was you. Have the oldest take the day bed and the 7 and three year old take the other queen bed, it's big enough so there shouldn't be any fighting for space.

Yup, the beds are plenty big for the little ones together. We stayed in the Polynesian years ago (1986), but I have fond memories of our stay there. It's a beautiful resort and I always try to visit it.

Everyone is doing and has done a wonderful job of explaining to me what it is about the Polynesian. I felt a little bit of it when we ate at O'Hana previously and you have sold me on it. My husband will be delighted with my surprise choice (SSHHHH- he thinks he's staying at POR!) ;) I have recently become involved with this board and I have to say that I have found a great many people to be truly delightful. Thanks for all of your help and advice!

I just want to say thanks alot. You all have ruined my plans! We were going to stay at WL Sept and I think Poly has always been a dream of mine but I don't want to give up WL so I've split our stay this year. We'll stay 3 nights at WL and 3 nights at Poly. I thought I had it all figured out but then I went and listened to you guys. :wave2:

Sounds like the Poly is the way to go! Now, if I can only get that rate down..........

The lowest code rate room at Poly I've seen was $229 with an ap about a year or two ago.

The ap rate this spring, regular season, is $254. It's a little bit lower if you can get a PIN #. I think someone said about $239 or so.

HI :wave2: my first time just my ds a I 6 NIGHT\ pofq $ 77.00 + tax

and 3 NIGHT\ poly $ 239.00 + tax

I am so happy to be staying at the poly, if only for 3 night , :Pinkbounc :cheer2:

take care AND GOD BLESS
