IMHO..there's really no bad place to sit and see the show. I loved the food and the show is awesome....enjoy !!!!

We've been to the luau two years in a row and had category 2 seating each time. The food was so delicious. I could eat just the salad, bread and fresh pineapple and be satisified. The rest of the food (chicken, pork and ribs, rice and veggies) were very very good.

The show has parts that are pretty cheesy. It's about a girl who moves off and then comes home again. But, the traditional dances are fantastic and make up for any of the prior cheesieness. The firetwirler is outstanding!

I don't have them posted in my trip report yet but should be doing that soon. Just click on the "Who Knew Choking....." trip report link in my signature below and subscribe so you'll know when I post them and my review.

Approx 1/3 of the Cat 3 seats have potentially bad sight-lines (depending on how much shifting around is going on in front of you). You should be fine in Cat 2.

we went in april and enjoyed it soooo much! we booked with the ddp and expected a cat 3 or 2 seating. when i went to get the tix from the front desk at wl the cm printed them off and we had category 2. i was happy! we were seated and had front row off to the side. it was great! the food was wonderful, altho i only last week realized they didnt bring my kids the kids menu but had the kids eat the above mentioned items.

one tip, dont arrive too early, once you get your lei and your pic done, they heard everyone into a waiting area that gets very warm with everyone cramed in. oh my i was so hot! then it was down a ramp and then seated. they have it well planned but the waiting area was bad, there was no seats if any- i didnt see any, but there was a lot of people there! other than that i have no complaints, it was fun!

we were planning to do it in february, but many people said they frooze in december/january, so i nixed it.

I sat all the way in the back... last seat, last table...and still could see perfectly fine and was relatively close to the stage! There is no bad seating there and the show is entertaining with good food. Its a great way to unwind and relax after a long day at the parks.

Enjoy!

How long is the luau? Booked for the 8:00p show and wondering if we will be able to make the 10pm fireworks at Magic Kingdom.

In 2003, the Luau took us 2 Hr. We had a 5PM seating and finished at 7PM. The walk from Luau Cove to the beach is only seconds away providing an excellent view of the castle. You can view the fireworks at lakeside and see the Electrical Water Pageant as a bonus (very romantic). If you try for the monorail, sit by the window on the right. The show will likely be over by the time you reach the MK since you will stop first at the Grand Floridian. Even the walk to the Polynesian marina might shave some views off the initial part of the display.

thank you! a view from the beach will work for tonight and maybe we'll try to be in the MK another night for the full experience.

Ohh, what pic? Can you give more detail on that please? We're going for the first time in just over 5 weeks. Is the pic included in the cost, or do we pay extra for it? And if so, do you remember how much?

They make you pay for the picture. I think it was $30 for a package. Not worth it in my opinion.

The show however, was very fun. My kids enjoyed it and even got up and did the hula. It was cute. Some parts of the show are cheesy, but the traditional dances make up for it and the fire guy was great. The food is really good. I loved the ribs, bread, dessert, salad, etc. It was really fun. I heard not so good things about it from others so I wasn't sure if we would like it, but it was one of our favorite meals.

We had category two seating and it was really good. We loved our seats. All seats looked pretty good though.

We recently attended the 8:00 luau. We booked early and had front row Category 2 seats off to the side but a great view of everything. The show ended just before 10:00. We were able to view the Magic Kingdom fireworks from a beach area as we were heading back toward the main building of the Polynesian but the music was not piped in there.

Oh ok.. we have the 8:00 show also (in oct.. that is) hope to get to see the fireworks also from the beach!!! 48 daysssssssssssssssss yahoo!!! :cool1::cool1::cloud9::cheer2::lmao:

We have Cat 1 seating on the 4th. Since we will have our 4yo son we would like to be close to the stage so he can see well. Should we get there early and wait in the hot room to make sure he can see?
