Hi everyone. Do you think the luau is fun for a 5 and 9 year old. My nine year old is very picky. Is the show itself fun enough? Is the show really a fantastic experience or just ok? I really appreciate your help! This is our first trip. Thanks

I heard that the show has changed lately. Has anyone been to the luau recently who can give us some updated info? I would like to know too!

We went to the Luau last May with all of our kids...11, 9, 6 and 2 (at the time). They liked the show ok...but just ok. They were getting tired toward the end and were ready to go just as it ended.
The food was fine. All the kids liked much of it, but our kids like atypical food. Not that they're not picky (in their own ways) but they tend to like Polynesian food in general. We were all full by the time the meal was over.
The show, on the other hand, was not as satisfying. ;) We are very glad we went. There is no regret there. I just wouldn't do it again too soon.
I had heard that the show has been changed and unfortunately I can't comment on that. I can just tell you what we experienced last May.
If you've never gone to the Luau, it's a good experience, but I wouldn't go if you're only "sort of" thinking of going. Wait until you're really excited about seeing it.
I hope you enjoy your trip no matter what you decide.

We went to the Luau last spring. Have heard it is changing. 2 kids, 6 & 2 at the time. My 6 year old is a very picky eater, but in an unusual way. He would rather eat fried rice & shrimp/pork than peanut-butter & jelly. Don't even put mac & cheese in front of him. 2 year old will eat anything, so the food from our part was good.

However...the show got a little boring for both kids, and we were ready to go by the end. We did Hoop-De-Doo also and the kids loved the show and food.

We are going to try Mickey's BYBBQ this time...we'll see.

Hope that helped.

The new luau that just started last week is geared more toward children now. I haven't attended but did get some information on it.

I was told that they do have the children and anyone else that would like to join in, get up and do some dances.
