Hi,

I am so totally excited about my short Memorial weakend trip to WDW. Do to the fact that someone beat me to taking the Thursday before Memorial day off, I will only be going May 27-May 30. This is no big deal since I was just there for 10 nights a couple weeks ago an am only going back to see the new attractions for the 50th and few things I like on my last trip.

Anyways, since I am reducing it by one day, I decided to upgrade and stay at a Gardenview room at the Polynesian instead of the Contemporary. This is where I wanted to stay in February, but ran into an issue and couldn't get an AP rate there. I figured it's a shorts stay so why not.

Thanks.

I really wanted to stay there to begin with, but it was really to much of a price difference. Also, I wouldn't be getting into the resort until 7 pm anyways on Thursday because of the late night flight and probably wouldn't be going to the parks until noon on Friday. Now I can take the early morning flight on Friday and get to the Poly by 12:30 and to MK by 1 so I really don't miss much park time and can stay at the Poly instead.

Hey Jason, the Samoa building is great, request volcano pool side 3rd floor. Super close to the pool and the GCH

rcraw45425,

I learned my lesson last time to ask for a curtain area when checking in. When I was at CBR I was at Barbados for part of the trip and North Trinadad for the other and I wish I had stayed the whole time at N.Trinadad. It was so close to the eating area it took me 2 minutes at the most compared to 10 minutes.

 I can feel your excitement!
We're staying at the Polynesian for the very first time in about 10 days! :Pinkbounc CAN'T WAIT!!

Liz,

Cool. When I was there a couple weeks ago when I stayed at CBR, I took the monorail around the resorts a couple times to see them and thought how cool it would be to stay in one of them. Even thought my first choice was the Contemporary because of the price, I kept thinking about how I could stay at the Poly. I guess it all worked out for the best, because I was able to get the AP rate at Poly and change my airfare over for free since it was the same price.

I couldn't see myself paying $254 a night for 7 or 8 nights, but to try it out for 3 nights is ok.

$254 is great! my AP rate for GF is "gasp" $363.50 :earseek:

We had garden view at the Poly in October for $239 general public rate but that was during regular or maybe value season, first of October. Our room at the WL was going to go from something like $179 to $289 a night for taht Friday and Saturday night, but I could move to the Poly for $239 with a code. Go figure!

rcraw45425,

It's actually $283.25 with tax, but still $111 off per night is nothing to sneeze at. By only going 3 nights, I am able to check out what many people have been talking about as one of the nicest resorts at WDW.

It's funny you mentioned GF, because my parents just resently moved and my mom gave me an extra set of china and some nice glasses and stuff. Any ways, in one of the boxes was and old yellow and tan GF Beach Club mug.

The POLY....my first and still my favorite!

We look forward to your trip report!

Have a great time! :cool1:

Normally I wouldn't splurge like this, but I figure it's only a 3 night trip so why not.

We will be there for Memorial Day weekend, too!!!! We are arriving Thurs and leaving Monday.

You may succumb to the magic of our favorite resort and then you will be hooked! It could become a costly "splurge"! :rotfl:  ;)
