My family and I are going to Disney in July 2008. I was set on the Contemporary Bay View but I am entertaining thoughts of maybe staying at the Poly. If so, it would be a Garden View because of price.

What longhouse has the best garden view rooms? Any room number suggestions?

If you want a glance of the lagoon and the GF with your view, ask for upper floor, Samoa, vol. pool side!

Ditto, that was our location and it was nice, centrally located, great view of pool (which they closed down unexpectedly right after we arrived :( )

That wouldn't have bothered us since it was the first week of Feb. and no one was swimming! For that reason, the normal noises people have "complained" about when staying in a room at that location are non-existent.

Our first adventure at the Poly was in the Fiji longhouse. It had a great view of the Contemporary Resort, the marina, and Space Mountain. You could sit on the patio and watch the monorails go around. I will always treasure our first visit. We have been staying at Samoa/volcano pool side with a great view of the Grand Floridian. You can't go wrong with any longhouse, but Samoa and Fiji are our two favorite.

We love Tokelau (sp?). Room 3939. We have always gotten a view of the pool even though we reserve Garden View. This is a room at the end of the hallway and we like being able to go quickly down the outside stairway and go to the T&TC. We can also get to the GCH in a 2 minute walk and to the volcano pool in a couple of minutes. The arcade is right by the stairway and the kids can go there when we need a few minutes of peace. This is the only building that we have stayed in (3 times) but anything at the POly would be OK with us!

Have a fun trip!!

Our first visit to the Poly we got Tokelau and it was a garden view room, but if you looked to the side of your balcony you saw the lagoon, Contemporary and GF. Sorry I don't remember the room number. It was on the 3rd floor though. Loved the location! We have requested Tokelau again this year. Hope we get it!

I would request 3rd floor Samoa. I personally would avoid Tuvalu because of the view and Tahiti and Rapa Nui because of the distance from the GCH/Volcano Pool

This will be our first disney trip with DD5 so obviously first stay at Poly. My reservations just state that I have a Magic Kingdom View. Anyone that has had this view before, is there a better floor that you prefer? Just curious if I can tell them what floor I want. We aren't going until October.....:confused3

This was the view from our Fiji Garden View room. Just make sure you ask for a room on the 1st or 3rd floor if you want a balcony.

The grounds at the Poly are beautiful and we loved watching the fireworks at night from the beach just outside the building.

We prefer the 3rd floor, no chance of any tree obstructions!!! You will LOVE the view! Our kids would watch wishes from their beds at night!! Have a great time!

We always stay garden view and request Aotearoa because we love the view of the monorail. 2nd or 3rd floor is great, and you can't hear the monorail with the sliding door closed nor have we ever heard even the slightest sound from the race track attraction. Aotearoa is also closest to the GF spa and there's a little beach that hardly gets used right there.

The arcade is no longer next to Tokelau. It has moved to the Great Ceremonial House next to Captain Cooks along the hallway that leads out to the marina, Fiji, Aeotearoa, etc.

We stayed in Aoterroa in a Garden View room and we had a great view of the Lagoon all the way to the Castle. We watched Wishes from the balcony I thought we had been upgraded but when we came home I looked at Tikiman's site and it was indeed listed as a garden view room. There would only have been a few that had that view, We just lucked out. It was wonderful.
