Hi :) I've stayed on the concierge level at the Polynesian on 4 different trips, with my 5th trip booked for next May.

I can tell you that there is NO lunch or dinner buffet. In a nutshell, here are the daily food offerings in the lounge:

Breakfast: coffee, tea, juices, spring water, milk, chocolate milk, hot chocolate,
croissants, pineapple bread, toast, bagels, danish, packs of instant oatmeal, 3 or 4 types of cold cereal,
fresh whole fruit (apples, bananas, oranges), cut up fresh fruit

"lunch": Only snacks are out at this time; sometimes chips & salsa, pretzels, cheese popcorn, gummy sharks, various other "nibble" items. Soda, juice, spring water.

dinner: Veggies with ranch dip, fresh cut up pineapple with caramel dipping sauce, cheese and crackers platter, then each night there are different hot "appetizer" type dishes including chicken wings, turkey skewers with dipping sauce, potatoes au gratin, etc. Other nights it's pulled pork, and things like that.
They also have out cut-up Uncrustables peanut-butter & jelly sandwiches.

Many people can and do make a light meal out of the night time food offerings, many people including myself use them as an appetizer before going out to dinner.

At around 7pm they put out a few types of bite-sized desserts, plus cordials (alcoholic drinks) such as Bailey's Irish Cream, Kahlua, Chambord, etc. They also have beer but we don't drink beer so I don't know what kinds they have.

Oh, they also have wine out in the evenings too, and they had a very nice fruit punch with alcohol in it on our last trip in July :)

This is all I can remember off the top of my head. I have pictures of many of the food offerings on my web site, in the Disney World section, just click on my Polynesian resort links. Enjoy! :sunny:

Ok, CR Fan beat me to it AND did a much better job than I did!! :thumbsup2

Well last month when my parents and I were at WDW we went to the Polynesian to see where the Hawaii Longhouse is, since we have a Garden View room booked there for this December. Anyway we were able to go inside and a very nice Cast Member working there gave us all the information about their sevices and etc since we told him we were staying there on our next WDW vacation. Besides that he said we were allowed to visit the lounge. Anyway one of the things he gave us was the menu of the foods they serve each day, so I copied down what they had each day, so that is why it looks like I did a better job.

I was just kidding with you; you did an excellent job! :sunny:

P.S. I can't wait to hear how you liked staying at the Polynesian, when you get back from your trip. I hope that you and your family have a wonderful time there! :)

We stayed in July at the Concierge for the first time and I can say that the continental breakfast, dinner, dessert items plus the beverages were all outstanding!

My only obeservation is that I wish that the dinner and dessert times would be expanded for about an hour. Many times we found ourselves cutting our park stay just to make it back in time for these.

Also a consideration if you have picky eaters, it may not work out. All the food was delicious, with sufficient variety.

:) :) :) :)

Other benefits include pre trip planning, separate check in, package delivery to your room instead of just to the resort gift shop and nightly turn down service. Each resort has food delivered nightly from the resort restaurants. Many of the concierge level have their own special thing. For example, at the Poly you can watch Wishes from the beautiful two story lounge; at the BWI you can watch Illuminations from the balcony; if you stay at the AKL concierge level you are eligible to book a surise or sunset safari. We have stayed at both the Poly and BWI and the services in both resorts. The only meal offerings we really take advantage of are breakfast, and we usually grab a glass of wine or two in the evening ;)

Well that would mean having to leave WDW which is never a fun thing to do, lol. Seriously though I will write how my parents and I liked the Polynesian, however until then we are 1st looking forward to staying there.

The concierge rooms also have a DVD player. The regular rooms do not. (at least I think that's correct) Having said that, I have no idea where you get the DVDs from or if you have to bring them from home if you wanted to watch one.

Thanks for posting this info!

Is it correct that all they have for breakfast is carbohydrates? No protein at all -- no eggs, no cheese? What about yogurt? From the list it looks like all carb and sugar.

The CMs in the check-in area of the Hawaii building have a list of available movies and you're to check them out to bring to your room :) They had a nice variety of movies when we were there in July.

This is true, it's a continental breakfast with no hot items, and no cheese that I can remember. I think they might have yogurt out in the morning, I know they did in the past. On our most recent trip we never had breakfast in the lounge, so I don't remember. My DH and I doing the South Beach diet, that's why we chose to go to the Kona Cafe for breakfast each morning; we had eggs with our Tonga Toast and pineapple pancakes!! :lmao:

Well, there's always the ducks outside! They come right up to the door for you :lmao:

"Other benefits include pre trip planning" - I'm curious what is meant by this? We have been waffling back and forth about Poly and CR for spring break. Right now, we are back to Poly Concierge. If we stay in the Hawaii building, are all views lagoon/MK?

hi tink lover! :) I can help with part of your question. No, not all the rooms in the Hawaii building are lagoon or MK view. Some of them are garden view concierge. The garden view concierge rooms are less expensive than the lagoon/MK view concierge rooms.

They have a team of CM's who can take care of all your phone calls if you like. Basically, you just send them a list of ADR's that you want, spa appointments, cruises, Cirque du Soliel tickets, etc. and they'll make the calls for you. Even though you are a "concierge" guest, Disney's definition is a bit different than the industry standard. I think that's why they're referring to it now as club level and not really concierge. Anyway, the pre-planning team still has to wait until the booking window opens and if something is sold out, it's sold out to them as well. The service is that they will continue to look for cancellations on your behalf, saving you the time and money on phone calls. If you have a credit card on file with them, they can also purchase gifts ahead of time and have them waiting, they can purchase certain brands of water or soda that the resort doesn't stock and pretty much anything else you can think of. While you're on site, if you forget a laptop cable or your video camera battery dies, they can send a runner and purchase a replacement for you.

The lounge has a view of Wishes, however the rooms are not all lagoon/MK. They have garden rooms available as well (lower price).

Thank you for the replies. I think that we will be changing our spring break ressie to Poly concierge lagoon view room. It should be magical! Will they put us in a second floor room with small kids?

When you make your ressie, you can request a 2nd floor room, but there are no guarantees that you'll get it. Honestly though, concierge really does do their best to acocmodate guest requests, so there's probably a decent chance that you'll get your request. :)

Honestly I would request third or first floor if you want a balcony. Second floor has none. I have some of the pictures from my stay on third floor lagoon view below in my signature. The second floor has a tv and is the main part of the lounge, the third floor has the same view as the second floor lounge but much smaller and has a tv and few tables and chairs for peace and quiet. Plus depending on who the chef is you may get to see fruit creations of animals.
