Hi All! We'll be getting a quick fix of the world at the end of the month and staying at the Poly for the first time! This trip is special because it's our first visiting as a family of four, We have a 5 yr old and an 8month old. We're skipping parks and are hoping to enjoy the pool, resort hopping, and some character dining. The 8month old is finally sleeping through the night and we don't want to throw off her schedule too much, so At least one of us will be back in the room by 7pm.
I called and requested a high floor in the Tokelau building based off some things I've read on the DIS Boards. I know it's a request and we'll keep fingers crossed for pixie dust, but did I make the right right request? We'd love something a little quieter but still with a pretty view.
Any other parents on here that have some ideas on how to enjoy the evenings in room while the kids are sleeping? I was thinking wine, balcony, and silence sound amazing :)

Thanks in advance.

This is the thread: https://www.disboards.com/threads/d...-resort-villas-information-questions.3398524/

We are staying at the Poly next year. I've read through many of these posts to get helpful information. Start with post #1 to get an overview and then work back from the higher page numbers to get most recent information. And you can ask your question on that thread to get responses specifically from people who know the Poly:) Have a great time!

When the kids were younger, we were always in our room putting kids to sleep at 7:00. Wine, Balcony and Silence were amazing. It was kind of like having two vacations in one. The daytime fun with the kids and the evening quiet with the hubby!

You booked a studio, then? All of Tokelau is standard studios. Second floor rooms in Tokelau have balconies, as well.

But if you have a Standard Room, rather than a Studio, Tokelau is a wasted request.

Most people who book studios request Tokelau and the studios run at 99% occupancy, so getting Tokelau at all, let alone third, tends to be about luck.

Wait, do all three of the DVC longhouses have balconies on the 2nd floors?? Obviously I'd love to be in Tokelau, but my #1 request was going to be to NOT on the second floor of any building so that my husband and i have somewhere to sit when our toddler son goes to bed/naps. If all of the DVC longhouses have 2nd floor balconies then I'll just put down Tokelau as or Moorea as my only request.

Yes. The three DVC longhouses have balconies on 2nd floor. The three "newer" longhouses at Poly were the buildings converted to DVC, and they have always had second floor balconies.

Thank you! It's my first time at the Poly since 1988. I was 5 back then, and I think a few things have changed

We stayed in a Poly studio in March and LOVED it! We requested balcony/Tokelau and were assigned a Pago Pago parking lot view. We asked at check in if they had anything else and were given a 2nd floor room in Moorea. It had a beautiful view of the garden/tiki torches. Definitely a great balcony to enjoy a glass of wine watching the torches flicker away! We cut through Tokelau everyday walking aroud and it has the best smelling lobby. This was our 1st stay at the Poly. We spend a lot of time at our resort and the Poly had so much to do. Enjoy your trip!

My husband and I have been taking alcohol down since the last time we did adult disney. This last trip we took the kids and we would actually put our son in the pack n play in the bathroom (we stayed at CBR) and my daughter 6 months would just lay on the bed while we would have a drink and watch tv...we would switch them come when hubby and I went to bed. But that is how we enjoy our evenings now. If we have the ability to sit outside (deluxe) we will. But these days we can't afford that with the kids and all so its "locking" out kid in the bathroom. But still nice to just sit quietly with a drink at the end of a day.
