We are deciding between CR and Poly in OCtober. Please help us decide. Keep in mind, we spend little time in the room, and convenient access to the parks is foremost for us. Thanks for replying.

Also, we spend the late evenings at the pool. We need easy access to a pool.

If you're going with them theme, I would definitely pick the Polynesian. I haven't stayed at either one, but supposedly, the theme at the Polynesian is far more immersive.

BUT, if quick access to the parks is your schtick, I think you have advantages with both; it just depends on which park you're planning on spending more time at. The CR is a quick walk away from the Magic Kingdom, and if you don't want to walk, the monorail is obviously right there.

The advantage to the Polynesian is that you have monorail access to the Magic Kingdom, but you can walk to the TTC and have access to a direct monorail line to Epcot.

Me? I like the convenient access to both Epcot and the Magic Kingdom, and the theme is just amazing, so I'd pick the Polynesian.

From the Contemporary, the Magic Kingdom is a ~10 minute walk and the Transportation & Ticket Center is a ~5 minute monorail ride.

The theming is MUCH better at the Polynesian......and the 2 pools are easier access at the Polynesian (as compared to the Contemporary Tower rooms).......and the atmosphere is much more laid-back & relaxing at the Polynesian.......and the rooms are ever-so-slightly larger at the Polynesian (by about 7 square feet......hahaha).

Seriously, you really won't go wrong with either one. I've stayed at both and personally, I'd pick the Polynesian any day over the Contemporary. Just my opinon though.

Due to AP rates and where I could get a deluxe for our upcoming April trip, we ended up with 3 nights at the Poly and 3 nights at the CR. Not the original plan but now I'm looking forward to splitting our stay - get to try out both resorts.

Possibly you might want to consider splitting your stay if the decision is hard? Get the best of both :D

We stayed at Poly last year and loved it. The volcano pool is so much fun for children. However, we were placed in Rapa Nui which is close to the TTC, but far from the pool and GCH. It is a long hot walk in blazing heat to the TTC, and we did a lot of walking at the resort. However, we would stay at the PR again in a heartbeat. This May we chose the Contemporary Tower b/c we are expecting a baby in August and want the quickest route to the Monorail. The theming IS much nicer at the PR, but our boys are so excited to stay at the CR. If you're looking for a great pool and beautiful grounds, pick the Poly for sure. It's like being at a resort in the South Pacific. But, I think the CR is more convenient for quick trips to the parks and convenience to your room, if you stay in the tower. Keep in mind that you could end up walking a lot at the PR depending on where your room is, or at the CR if you choose the Garden Wings.
