Does anyone know how deep the water is at the bottom of the slide? My DD (6) thinks she's an expert swimmer and is past the point of wearing arm floaties or a life vest. I'm just wondering if she'll be able to stand in the water if she panics...she's about 50 inches tall. She can swim but she's not as strong of a swimmer as she thinks she is. Thanks for any feedback.

It starts out at 0 and goes to about 4'? At its deepest? I'm 5'0" so I am careful in the pools too and a bad swimmer, but this pool is not deep. BUT the poly has 2 pools and the quiet pool IS deep. especially under the rope area. This pool starts 3 1/2 to 8'?
Parents do hang out at the end of the slide area's and when there child is on the way down they are usually allowed over to assist them. The volcano pool has life guards, but the quiet pool does not.

Our youngest DS (5) could almost touch last week at the bottom of the slide and he is 47 inches. He would swim either to my DH or over to the side, which was not far. I know children can wear the vests the resort provides on the slide. They were at the pool by the lifeguard stands. He would not go down the slide last year, but loved it this year. There were kids of all ages wearing vests. I think she should not have a problem. You may want to stand at the bottom of the slide the first time she goes down to see how she does. Have fun!

The volcano pool slide is really quite fast. It is enclosed and you make quite a splash so it needs a good depth of water at the end.:smooth:

It's about 3 1/2 feet at the slide exit. Our oldest was able to stand up at the exit but didn't enjoy it because it IS fast and he doesn't like that. I think he was about 51 inches at the time; 50 inches should be OK.

My 7 year old was a pro. My 5 year old tried it and didn't like it at first because it was fast. But feeling the need to compete with her sister, she tried it again and then was a pro too. I waited at the bottom by the steps just in case, but once down, it moves the kids pretty quickly to you. But the guards let you stay close by if you want. Also, once pros, they wouldn't even go under. They would come down, hold there nose, keep their chin up and their heads stayed above water upon entry into the pool. It was fun for all!!
