Poly Villa vs GFV... :)

We are planning our trip and are in-between the Poly Studio Villa and the GF Studio Villa.

I love the idea of staying at the GF and never have. I have been there numerous times, but never stayed in this particular resort. I love the whole theme of it.

DS is a HUGE Stitch fan and would just die over the Stitch Theming in the Poly. Basically, he would be one happy kid to be there. We have never stayed here either but have been there as well.

My question is... what would you do? Say at the GF or the Poly. I know this is a totally personal decision but I'd love some other input.

Are you a home owner at VGF? Or are you renting? I'm guessing you're not a home owner, either way, because you say you have never stayed at GF.

To be honest, the decision may be made for you. If you cannot book a VGF studio at 11 months, at 8AM, you won't get it. Even if you can, you may not get it.

There are 47 VGF studios. There are 360 Poly studios. The VGF studio is one of the hardest bookings at DVC.

Like auroraborealis mentioned, VGF is the hardest to rent points, heck even VGF point owners have a hard time during certain times of the year to get a room right when the 11 month window opens

This and this is why we didn't buy DVC at GF. We knew the studios would be impossible to get. They way oversold them. Apparently, I'm still irritated about it!!!!!

As others mentioned, your choice is probably already made for you. Way more Poly studios than VGF studios. If you are interested in a VGF one or two bedroom, they are often available at the 7 month mark - we have booked them twice in the last couple of years.

Too many VGF owners only purchased enough points to stay in studios, and there just aren't enough to go around.

So funny, I was in the same boat a few months ago. Originally had a studio booked at GF but then DS said he really wanted to say at the POLY so I ended up switching. My thought process went like this. I love the GF and have wanted to stay there for quite some time, but decided that when I do stay at the Grand I want it to be during the holidays. We are going in June for my oldest DS's grad trip so POLY it is!

Thanks for all of your input. I am not a DVC owner, so this may be a decision that has been made for me. Honestly, I think I would be happy either way. I was just wondering if I should go ahead and TRY for the GFV or just forget that stress and grab one at the Poly. I think waiting until Christmas might be a great idea @DevonsDisneyMom !! Most agencies will let you prioritize what to look for. Odds are terrible for VGF, though. Odds are much better at PVB.

You'll be happy at both resorts. The GF is our favorite, but we love the feel of the Poly too. If you go at Christmas, staying non dvc at the Grand is worth it..... Best trip we've ever had and the resort is so magical.

Thank you all! Just put my request in for both.... I guess we shall see what they can do at the 11 mo window and go from there. Honestly, I'll be in WDW... either way, it's awesome!
