We're going in the middle of October and have a garden view booked. I'd like to have a non smoking room near the GCH... can you give me bldg recommendations? Also pros/cons of having a ground floor room?

Samoa is very close to GCH but very often requested and harder to get. Tokelau is also not to far from GCH and is right next to the quiet pool.I like the ground floor easy access to the pool, ducks in the morning,no stairs but some on't like that people can walk by and look in your room.BTW Tokelau is closer to the TTC.Sounds like I'm pushing Tokelau maybe because I've requested Somoa a couple times and didn't get it . Got Tokelau instead and was very happy with it.

We've been in Samoa twice, First time 1602, this was ground floor facing the volcano pool. We even had the ds just open the sliders to go swimming and for mug and snack runs while keeping the curtain closed. That is what you should do on the ground floor. I couldnt believe how many people leave the curtain open for all to see, sorry I value our privacy. Rarotonga is also close to the gch. I havent stayed there so I dont know what the view is, I think one side is the quiet pool. On the ground floor you can also see the ducks and rabbits etc. This april I again asked for samoa ground floor, but we got the 3rd floor. Our view was terrible, just the tops of bamboo trees and a view of the conceirge bldg. roofs and lots of bird poop on the balcony. Hope you find your perfect room.

We've stayed in Samoa and Fiji, and they are both very close. Samoa is closer to the poool, but, personally, I prefer Fiji with a marina view.

You can't go wrong with either one.
