Poly spring/summer discount

Hi. We are considering the Poly for next June. My question is, when the spring or summer specials come out (if they do and if Poly standard view is included), what are my chances of getting the discount if I already have a reservation?

The Poly Standard View tends to be heavily booked without discounts. If you won't travel without a discount, I'd recommend looking for a discount elsewhere.

No idea if this is typical or not...but we booked a summer stay about a month out for the end of June on this summer's special. We got 35% off with our AP discount, should be 30% for non pass holders. There were several room types available, including standard. We went with a std villa.

I do know that summer discounts in general are more rare, but for some reason (evidently they've not filled enough rooms) there is a pretty good promo this summer. Who knows if it will be that way next year...

Disney offers discounts to fill rooms, so if a resort is at/near capacity, Disney will see no need to offer a discount on that particular resort or room type. If you will go regardless of whether or not a discount comes out, I'd book now. If your trip is dependent on a discount, I'd wait to see what (if any) discounts come out for your dates. If you book now and want to apply a discount later, that is doable as long as what you have booked is available under that discount. Sometimes, though, you have to be flexible with your resort and/or room type as having a reservation already in place does not guarantee a discount can be applied later.

I went ahead and booked because that's what I really want. I will reassess after the discounts come out and see it it's still worth it to me.
