Considering changing our reservation from POFQ to Poly as a surprise to my family that wants to stay there. I'm left with a few questions ......

Do they offer a turn-down service?

Do they have robes?

Is the fast-food restaurant open 24 hours?

Any thing else I should know to convince me to switch......

If you need convinced, go to www.tikiman2001.homestead.com, this site will tell you about all things Poly. I think you can request turndown service, but it is not automatic. There are robes and automatic turndown service included on the concierge level, as well as lounge offerings.
We are staying there in June for the first time and really looking forward to it!

Captain Cook's is the snack bar at the Polynesian and it is open 24 hours.

And you can request turn down. Years ago it was automatic in all rooms but these days only in concierge as goodferry indicated.

The Polynesian is simply wonderful....so relaxing and yet so convenient.

Huh. I didn't think Capt. Cook's was open 24 hours. But it doesn't surprise me. Plus, I think room service goes til midnight.

As for additional reasons to stay at the Poly:

1. Food options. In addition to the Poly's great restaurants ('Ohana and Kona Kafe), you have monorail access to fantastic restaurants at the Contemporary, Grand Floridian and boat access to the Wilderness Lodge.

2. Location. The Poly gives you the best transportation options to MK (monorail and boat) and you can walk to the TTC for direct access to Epcot or to catch a direct bus to the other parks.

There are plenty of other great things about the Poly, including the staff, the atmosphere, the pool, etc. But I assume those things are great at all Disney resorts.

The grill at Captain Cook does close at 11:00 but it is open 24 hrs..

The hours for the slide vary because the hours for the lifeguards do. Once the LGs are gone, the volcano slide is closed. I think there are LGs there until 9 or 10 in the summer....depending on weather of course.
