Poly poolside dining . . .

Hi,

I have a question for those of you familiar with the Poly. We stayed at the GF a few years ago and always went back to the resort for lunch and a swim. We would get tuna sandwiches and fruit smoothie drinks right there at the pool. The meal was quick, light, inexpensive and surprisingly good! We are staying at the Poly this time around and I was wondering if there is anything like this poolside.

There is no pool service at the Poly like at the GF. You can just walk inside to Captain Cooks and get anything on their menu and bring it back to the pool to eat.

The food at Captain Cooks is not that good.

Neither is the coffee, but for $2.87 they have good cappuccino.

We got sticky wings to go, from the Kona Cafe and brought them out to the patio area, for a light lunch. It was perfect!

thanks for your posts.

I haven't seen many positive things about captain cooks but of course we will try it out. I'll try the Kona wings as my DH LOVES wings - thanks for the tip! We may even have lunch at the GF and then return to the Poly we'll see how it goes!

I haven't stayed at the Poly yet so I don't know how that resort works, but at the GF you could call Private Dining from the pool area telephone and order a meal. They would deliver your meal right to your poolside table. I would think that the Poly might offer something like that. Ordering from Private Dining (aka, Room Service) is a lot of fun and doesn't detract from your pool time (that is, you swim until your meal arrives).
