Booking a trip for April '06. Have stayed at WL before. Is POLY worth the extra money?

We've stayed in both recently, and its a tough choice. We had a wonderful lake view room at WL in Dec. 2002, before we had our DS in the following April. The holiday decorations were incredible. I personally like the theming there better than any other resort.

We stayed at the Polynesian last August with our 18 month old. It is a beautiful place - the pool, the grounds, the atmosphere. It's on the monorail, so access is no problem.

My favorite is WL - in fact, we're going back in October - but the Polynesian is wonderful, too.

Wew have stayed at both, and love both! But, we do love Poly just a bit more! :cheer2: If you haven't tried Poly, it might be fun to try something new! :cheer2: I am sure you will enjoy either, but I do think having the monorail acsess is very nice! :cheer2:

I've tried both & if you have the extra $ I say try the Poly, you won't be disappointed. The rooms compared to the WL are so much bigger ! Also the monorail will really spoil you with the ease & convenience. Also we loved the restaurant choices. We loved O'hana & the Kona Cafe. Also from the beach we would grab a seat & watch the fireworks & then the electric water parade. We still love the WL but were really glad we got to try the Poly. :flower:

I vote Poly..stayed there last year (after years of loyalty to the Contemporary) and I am hooked! Best Resort EVER! :teeth:

WL is nice, great atmospehere, but something about the Pol yseems more magical to me...and the monorail is a wonderful luxury!

Indeed a tough one! The two are very close to being rated the same for our family. The only additions are as mentioned, the rooms are bit bigger and the monorail access is realy nice at the Poly.
Our favorite is the WL though, I think it is because it is smalled and more quaint.

Your post could have been mine only a few weeks ago - we had booked a 4 night stay at the Poly and then debated whether or not to move to WL...we absolutely love the VWL and the whole resort is just wonderful. But the Polynesian seems so incredible as well.

we opted for the WL, because we added on an extra night and the price difference was just too great. I know it seems silly because we'll be back at VWL less than two months after DS's b'day trip but something about it feels like home.

I know my opinion is skewed since I've never stayed at the Poly, but honestly I can't see how you could make a bad decision either way!
