Which would you choose and why?

Leaning towards keeping Poly because of the monorail but I could save a good chunk of change going to WL. Good idea or bad idea?

Both are wonderful resorts. If it was important to me to watch my budget for this trip, I would switch. I personally would not switch because the convenience of the monorail, I prefer the theming of the Poly, the resort has my favorite Quick Serve - Captain Cooks and the view of the Magic Kingdom as you walk around the resort!

Both are great resorts. Poly has the best transportation options and larger rooms. Both resorts are undergoing renovations. You can look at the Poly and WL threads to find out more about what's going on at each resort.

For us we dine a lot at the Poly, but don't much care for actually staying there due to room sizes and a bit of the theme. Your decision mainly comes down to transportation convenience and how much that means to you. Do you want to ride a monorail to MK and EPCOT saving bus time? If so, how much is that worth to you vs taking the bus from Wilderness?

We've stayed at both and while we do love the WL, the Poly is our favorite. The rooms are considerably larger, all rooms have a daybed, MK is the 2nd stop on the monorail, the TTC is a quick walk away to catch the Epcot monorail, and the tropical grounds are beautiful and relaxing. With that said, the WL is also a beautiful resort with a lot to offer. MK is a relaxing boat ride away, but also has the bus that is direct with no stops. We have found the buses at WL to be very quick and efficient compared to other resorts. Also, both resorts have great CS and TS options, IMO. I don't think you can go wrong with either one as they are both great places to stay. Good luck.

We have stayed at both and prefer the WL. It has a more relaxing atmosphere; I didn't like all of the extra visitors to the Poly for the luau and to watch fireworks every night, it's too crowded. After being in the parks all day we appreciated the relative calm at WL. Also love the theming. We thought the monorail would be a major plus at the Poly, but turned out not much different for us than boats/ buses at WL. We live in a rural area and are used to traveling, so everything seemed quick to us, and not a deciding factor.

The Poly and the WL are both great! The Poly has larger rooms, views of the fireworks from the beach, monorail access to Mk and Epcot. The WL is all under one roof and saves quite a few $$$. Either way, you will have a wonderful vacation.

If the budget makes a difference at all, the WL is a great choice. IF the price difference really doesn't matter, then I would choose the Poly. there is something special about walking around the grounds of the Poly, especially at night when the torches are lit.

Enjoy!

Poly. I wasn't a huge fan of WL. It was nice, but just not my thing. Plus, I prefer monorail to bus/boat.
