Hi - as DVC members, we are thinking of taking advantage of the pool-hopping privlege on our trip next week. DDs is 7 months and LOVES to be in the water, so we were hoping one of those pools had a nice water play area!! Any suggestions which pool is better and which would be less crowded? It is just me, DH and DD (under 1).

Thanks!!!

I have stayed at the Poly. The theme pool has a zero grade entry and the water is kept a little warmer at that end. Have not stayed at GF, not sure about their pool(s).
The Poly pool is also a short walk to Capt. Cooks for drinks and snacks. There is also a pool bar for drinks and small snacks.

The Poly pool is much better for kids. I've been to both, and although the GF is pretty, the Poly pool has the zero entry and more of a kid-friendly atmosphere.

Both are good for little kids, because both are zero entry (GF has two pools, but I think the main pool is better for kids).

GF has a waterfall and a water play area. Poly has a volcano and a water play area. Both pools are on the beach. GF may be slightly less crowded.

I think both are equally good for a baby of that age. Both have zero entry pools but for a baby that age I'd probably choose the quiet pools where you can hold your little one without worrying as much about toddlers splashing and running, etc.. Both have nice quiet pools as well. Both quiet pools are usually pretty quiet. ;)

We were at GF 3 years ago and DD was about 16 months and loved the pool. The pool with the waterfall was terrific plus the monorail passed near and both kids thought that was fun. A friend stayed at Poly two years ago and just loved their pool. Both would be fantastic.

Since the baby is only 7 months old I assume she's not swimming yet. ;) The GF pool's water fall is closer to their zero entry area and the sound of the water falling might be a intimidating to a little baby. I think the Polynesian pool would be a better choice and the water is soooo warm there. It too is zero entry. Either way though, you should be fine. :)
