Poly or CR

Maybe I'm just projecting, but when I go on a group trip, one of my main concerns is trying to do everything I can to prevent tension. I wouldn't foist a split stay upon family members who might not care as much about the Disney resorts. Nor would I force people to stay in a hotel they don't want (within reason, like staying at ASMu vs Poly would be different, but CR and Poly are comparable). I would either just give in on CR, or stay at Poly by yourself. As others have said, it's easy to get between the two.

You'll get a million opinions on this one and really just go with your gut!

I'm wondering if we are in the same family? When we were kids (many moons ago), my Aunt LOVED the CR and my mom loved the Poly. They finally agreed to disagree and we stayed Poly and they stayed CR and we visited each other. As a kid, I remember thinking that was pretty darn cool. We love, love, loved riding the monorail around and seeing both resorts. And this was in the days pre-cellphones and my mom was a single mom. So totally do-able.

But I'm not going to lie, I think my sister and I would have preferred to stay at the CR. It was so MEMORABLE to see that monorail coming in through the building and it was so lively and bright....I remember that to this day and still look forward to staying there. But Poly is on my list as well for the next time I can find a good special or want a change.... but I personally think that I like the WL even better than Poly (don't flame me....). But I love my CR home base and dinner at Poly or GF so my kids can get their "monorail-ride-fix"....

But I swear, my mom LOVES the Poly. Still does. And I definitely will never complain about staying there and look forward to that trip! You win either way so do what you really think your family will enjoy the most.

Thank you so much! I think I will stay withCR my kids will probably like it more. I am excited with either one. Now just waiting to make ADRs :).

I think this is a good idea since there are other families involved. If it were just you and your kids, then I'd vote to switch it as many times as you want. But given how many others you have going along, I'd just leave things alone. CR is a wonderful resort -- are you staying in the tower or wing? The tower is VERY nice -- either side offers great views. And the pool area is nicer than I imagined it would be -- we really enjoy it there. You will also appreciate the walk to MK. After all of our trips we've taken with young kids, we've found that nothing beats a walking trail to parks. You can come and go at your own pace, no worries about lines or waiting.

We are staying garden wing. TPV was sold out, but too be honest I don't know if I want to spend that much $$$.
