We have had our hearts set on staying at the Poly. Then we got the 40% offer in the mail yesterday. The only thing available at the Poly is club level. It cost about $500 a night with the discount. They have BWI available, standard room, for about $275 a night. Is club level worth the extra $225 a night? My 15 year old is giving me big time guilt. She is dying to stay at the Poly and she thinks BWI looks like a tacky carnival. Where would you stay?

I would stay at the Poly. I liked BWI, but the Poly is a classic Disney resort with an amazing setting.

When are you going? You could keep calling back to see if a more affordable option has opened at the Poly.

When are you going, is a very important question. If you have time, My DS and I booked AKL and there were no savanna views open. I kept calling, and sooner or later someone canceled. (I would keep your BWI reservation for back up!)
That worked for us. Patience and persistence. :)

We are going in April. We wanted to go to WDW April 10-15. The 40% ends 4/8. We already have our air tickets, so it has to be sometime between 4/3 and 4/15. We're flexible because the rest of our time will be spent visiting my Dad. I'm going to keep calling and see if anything non-club opens up.

I would choose the poly if you can afford the club lvl then great if you cant im sure the bwi would be fun as well...

I think it just depends on what you can afford. I couldn't do $500 a night, so I would go BWI. Of course, I didn't find BWI tacky at all. The pool slide maybe, but the rest of the resort was very charming.

A few years ago we did a split stay between the Poly and BWV. I was sooo sad to leave the Poly but boy did I love the Epcot resort area. There is so many different restaurants to choose from and you are steps from the Boardwalk. I would probably save the money and to to the Boardwalk, but if your heart is set on the Poly it may be hard to give the Boardwalk an even shake! Good luck

Totally depends on your budget. BWI appeals to me more than Poly, but Im not the one making the trip...Have fun whatever you decide!

I love the BWI, it's our favorite, however if you have your heart set on the Poly, I would go with that.

Let her give you a hard time and just smile at her... It can be your little secret. She will have too much fun at BWI!!! The Epcot area is awesome fun and the activities at the BW at night is amusing to all ages. She will enjoy being able to walk to Epcot and DHS. We carried DS17, DD16 and DD's BFF last summer and stayed at BC. We went to BW several times to hang out because it was a fun place to be. There's shopping, dining, and the ESPN club.

Have a great trip!!!

I also don't feel that club level is a good value for the money they charge. If you have an MK view at the Poly, that might be worth it, but otherwise, you're paying hundreds of dollars for a few snacks. It makes the theme park treats look cheap. It's just as easy for me to make my own ADRs as it is to have the club concierge to do them.

Does that mean that I can call or email the concierge now and tell them where I'd like to dine and when and they'll take care of it for me? That would be cool.

You can't do it until you book. I stayed AKL Concierge so I could do the Sunrise Safari on my last trip, and I got an email from the concierge that I could reply to, or print out and fax my requests in. You can call them too, but I found it hard to get a hold of them by phone. Course, you can leave a message and they will call you back. I didn't use them to make my ADR's tho, since I had to call and book them for the rest of my trip anyway. I don't think it's any easier, really. Unless they can get you some of the more difficult times/places? :confused3

Is the Poly room a Lagoon View or Garden View? If it's LV, you will have a view of the castle! Yes, the concierge will make your ADRs for you, even the hard to get ones. They are usually able to pull some strings for you, even while you are on vacation. This is based on my experience staying at the WL club level. My dh was very impressed and wants to go Club level for our upcoming trip in June. We have booked the Poly LV club and are hoping for a discount.
