Poly or Beach Club (please help me choose)?

I booked fairytale package for me and my girlfriend for late October for both the Beach Club and Poly (Courtesy Hold). If you didnt have preference of one theme park over another (you love them all), and if it were just you and your better half (no kids), which resort would you choose and why? Preferably from those who have stayed at both BC and Poly.

Have never stayed at either but would choose the Beach Club for adults due to the location. It is an easy walk to EPCOT, quick boat trip to Studios, walk across the bridge to the Boardwalk for some nightime fun! Also, EPCOT will be hosting the Food & Wine Festival during your stay! A "must do" event for adults and it is so wonderful just to stoll out through the International Gateway home in the evening after! I'm sure whatever you decide will be great though! Have Fun!

If you really like the Polynesian theme, and in my opinion the Polynesian is much better themed than the BC, then I would stay there. But for location, i.e. proximity to Epcot & MGM, then I would stay at BC. Don't get me wrong, while BC may not be as themed, it is still a very nice resort with a sweet pool!

But some folks are really captivated by the Polynesian, so investigate well.

We were at the Beach Club last month. I thought it had an older crowd, ie less children. The theming is more subtle.

The 5 minute walk to Epcot can't be beat. Also, Disney Studios is a 15 minute walk (faster than the boats).

If I were in an adults only party I would choose the Beach Club. The pool is awesome!

Hard choice! I think the Polynesian slightly beats the Beach Club in my book. Even if I didn't have kids, I might pick the Polynesian. Location is good at both. At the Polynesian, I can take the monorail or a boat to MK. I am a short walk - 5 minutes to the Epcot monorail.
At the BC, as mentioned, you are a 5 minute walk from WS or about a 20 minute walk to MGM.

Take you pick.

I think the location and ease of transportation make this resort the best. The BC was nice but with the new BCVs it's really crowded now (we checked it out last summer)...and the pool was packed even before the BCVs (when we stayed there in 2001). My 1st choice for "all adults" would actually be the GF but between BC & Poly I'd choose the Poly.

Having stayed at both, I may be able to help you. Both are very nice and are relatively close to either the MK or EPCOT & MGM.

I think you need to decide on which park you think you may be spending more time at. I enjoyed them both, but found the Polynesian to be more romantic than the Beach Club. Also, at the Polynesian, you can sit out on the beach and watch the Electrical Water Parade, as well as the MNSSHP fireworks over the MK. These are shot off over the park in the round and are really beautiful to see.

The BC is within walking distance to the International Entrance of EPCOT and a shuttle boat ride to MGM Studios. It has a very light and airy feel to it, with alot of pastels and nautical themes. Most rooms have 2 beds & a day bed. Stormalong Bay is their pool and is really nice. It's a quick walk to the Boardwalk.

The Polynesian is more of a tropical feeling with the grounds having alot of lush greeneries around. The rooms are the same as at the beach club, but maybe a little bigger. There is a shuttle boat to the MK & GF and of course the monorail to the GF, MK, Contemporary & TTC. The TTC is within walking distance from the resort.

We are two adults who like to relax at WDW and we have also looked at both resorts, but chose BC due to its proximity to Epcot. We don't like to spend a lot of time in transit to other places, so we enjoy being close to Epcot and all the places on the Boardwalk and the other Epcot resorts that we can just walk to.
Besides, whichever one you choose this time, you can always stay at the other one on your NEXT trip!

There are a LOT of great restaurants in the BW - BC area. Plus being so close to the WS of Epcot is great for nights. When we stayed in this area before we had kids we would try different countries for dinner or dessert each night and it was so easy to walk over.

I love the Polynesian but for 2 adults I would probably choose the Beach Club or Yacht Club. It is within walking distance to a lot of good restaurants at the Boardwalk and Epcot area. It's also really nice to stroll the World Showcase in Epcot in the evenings. I think there are actually less children at the Yacht Club side. I also love the boat to MGM. The pool is fantastic. If you really want the best of both worlds, you can do what we did last year and split your stay between the Poly and BC. Go to MK and AK while at the Poly and save MGM and Epcot for when you are at the Beach Club. It was very easy to switch resorts and it felt like a whole new vacation halfway through our stay.

We couldn't decide either, so we are staying at the BC for 2 nights and the Poly for 2 nights, after staying at POR for 6 nights.

We've stayed at Beach Club, but not Poly. We've visited the Poly several times though for breakfast, dinner and the luau and it's a beautiful resort. However, I would vote for BC. Hubby and I don't have any kids and so far YC/BC is our favorite resort (we're trying Wilderness Lodge in 9 days so we'll see if we have a new favorite). You can't beat the Epcot Resort Area. Love the boardwalk. Very romantic - rent a surrey. Talk a walk. In my opinion, World Showcase is a very romantic place. Lots of good restaurants and entertainment if you stay at an Epcot resort.

We have stayed at both. I agree with Daisymeo. The Polynesian is a beautiful resort, but for two adults, I vote for the Yacht/Beach Club ~ a nice walk or boat ride to Epcot, Boardwalk, and restaurants in the World Showcase.

we almost always split our stay between 2 hotels--this way you can enjoy all the benefits of both and have a change in theme/food/location -just plan to be at each hotel according to what you will be doing that is nearby--I don;t think you can lose at either of those hotels--but by splitting your stay you can "have your cake and eat it too"--ps--the resorts will move all your baggage to your next resort for you while you are enjoying your day--you just show up at the next resort and check-in! bags are waiting--have fun!!
