I am looking to book a Poly Standard View studio waitlist for a friend For Nov 14-16th. does It make more sense to book as one waitlist or split to two waitlists? She is booked for the remainder her trip after this at the Poly but these two nights she had to book a non DVC resort so if the second night came up, I think she would still want it but if the first came up it wouldn’t make sense to switch resorts twice. Would I have a better shot with two separate waitlists?

Does the non-DVC back up have free cancellation? If so, I'd waitlist the nights separately until the cancellation deadline or 31 days prior to arrival whichever comes first, and keep the back up until both nights come through.

If the second night works, but not the first, she can probably change the back up to one night. and still only move once. If only the first night comes through before 31 days prior to arrival, I'd just keep the back up an cancel the first night that came through at the Poly to avoid moving back and forth.

Good luck!

Maybe book the second night and then the 2 nights. This way, if that second night comes through, you can change the 2 night to the first night.

At least this way, you don’t have night one come in and not night 2 and end up with the back up anyway.

I always split my waitlists and have had pretty good luck doing so. If the first shows up, it won't automatically be merged. You can wait until 31 days out to see if the 2nd comes through. If not, just cancel it at that point. Nothing to lose.
