Please tell me:

What is the poly rice?

What can kids eat? Two different websites, two different menus listed??

For those that been recently....Worth the time and money FOR YOU? Your opinions are welcome.

We went to the Luau in October - I don't think it's something I would waste 2 credits (or $$$) on again. The food was ok but nothing special. There were no children in our party so I can't help you with that. IMO, Hoop-De-Doo is waaaay better - both the food and the show.

I'll be trying it for the first time in April. I'm just expecting good food and a good show. If the idea of it interests you, give it a shot and decide for yourself.

We went back in June...fun show...great food. Service was top notch probably the best we experienced throughout all of Disney. The food is served on a platter..so if your kids eat chicken...pork...rice and salad they can eat from that...however the table next to us had some little tikes...the waiter brought our a few selections for the little boys cant recall exactly what it was. Give it a try...it was a fun night!

Hi

We went to the luau in September. We have an 8 year old daughter who has a gluten sensitivity. What they did was give her the same exact chicken, veggie and pork without sauce and gave her white rice and gluten free bread. The food was excellent and the show was good. The menu off of this website was right on the money with everything. We are glad we did it.

Hope you enjoy it.:)

I don't remember the rice - I think it was just plain rice. It's not polynesian food.... but the ribs were very good.... I never got to the chicken... the salad, grilled pineapple, and coconut bread were good. My beers were constantly replaced, always had a full one on the table ready for me... The kids meal was a hot dog, mac and cheese, and some other stuff. But we tried to get our picky toddler to eat the other food first.

I agree this is not worth using DDP... only because you cannot get category 1 seating. The way this place is set up... some of the seats were very far back with difficult views. We paid for Cat. 1 without using the DDP and we were right up front, very nice.

We would pay OOP if we do it...I wanted to be sure about those other kid selections because one DS is so picky...DH would be happy about the beer but not happy about the price if the food is not good...

Plain, white rice....interesting...wonder why they call it poly rice then.
