Hello I'm planning next year's trip and I'm really considering the lagoon view for a stay at Poly. I appreciate any feedback and tips for this resort. I'm actually also considering a BCV but the DW really wants to try Poly.....ah decisions decisions!!:confused3

I had the same decision to make. I chose garden or lagoon view, because it is so much nicer to go to the beach for the fireworks and water parade. Actually seeing Cindy's castle from your room is not as great as seeing it from the beach. Paying the extra $ for Theme Park view, in my opinion, is not worth it.:)

Another opinion - I love to wake up in the middle of the night and look out at the castle! Lagoon view at the Poly is quiet and peaceful. We prefer it over our recent Contemporary MK view which was marvelous but noisy with bus traffic.

Thank you both!! Lagoon it is!!!

Do you think there is a bad lagoon view? Seems like upgrading to MK view is unnecessary. Am I missing something?

Yeah, actually are. When the room views were reassigned to lagoon and theme park in 2010, maybe 2009, there was a significant distinction made. With lagoon view you will see the lagoon, but part of your view will be blocked by something like a palm tree or bushes. Yes, the views can be quite restricted in some cases. This can be especially true when trying to view the EWP and Wishes. Whole parts of the shows can be obscured. Kind of like being behind a pole at a sports event. Theme park view is now the only way of getting an unobstructed view of the lagoon.

I would rather save that money and put it towards Garden View Club Level....you get all the ammenities of CL with the amazing view from the lounge....I figure I'll be in the lounge on my off time more than my room....so that's where I put our money :goodvibes

My vote is for Garden View, normally I like a view from my balcony and will splurge for a water view or better. But at the Poly the grounds are so beautifully landscaped that our Garden view, 1st floor Niue facing the Volcano Pool was fantastic!!

We would watch Wishes from the Volcano pool, beach or GCH 2nd floor where the music is piped in. So worth saving the money on a Garden view at the Poly.

Check out the Tikiman's website for great maps, pics and views.

Thanks for sharing your opinions...so torn!

I wouldn't rule out Theme Park view at Poly. We stayed there for four nights in December last trip and loved the view. We were in Tahiti and had a great view. Was nice to come back from the parks at night, sit out on the balcony and watch the fireworks from MK.

Tuvalu is a great building for theme park view at the Poly. It is right next to Fiji and close to the GCH. Also, if you want a nice view that you do not have to pay extra for at the Poly, you can request Fiji Marina view. Great view and super close to the GCH :)

Yeah, Now I am wondering how my chances for a good view would be if I do Garden view and my parents do MK view..Wonder if they will let us be by each other, like across the hall...then Ill mooch their view LOL!

When my parents and I went last summer, they were in Tuvalu (theme park side) and we were in Fiji (marina view). The back steps at Fiji are right at the entrance to the Tuvalu building. It was really convenient when meeting and sometimes we would just go over to their room to see the fireworks on their balcony. I do believe you can request that building even if you aren't paying for theme park view, but you will just be put on the "garden view" side. My sister and I didn't want garden view which is why we requested Fini Marina View at no extra charge :)
