I notice there is a $500 difference in price and they both say that they offer views of Seven Seas Lagoon and Magic Kingdom attractions. Is the Theme Park View just a guarantee that you will see the park from your room and the lagoon view its just a crap shoot? Is it worth the extra $500?

Lagoon view rooms face either the Grand Floridian or TTC/Contemporary. Yes, it is a crap shoot on whether or not you get a partial view of MK with a lagoon view.

Quite frankly, watching the fireworks from the warm sand beach is far more lovely than from a room balcony to me! I'd save the money and spend it on dinner at V&A!

Ok so wait, the Theme Park View rooms have balconies and the Lagoon view rooms dont? We definitely want a balcony for sure, so that could make this very easy if thats the case.

I don't know what all rooms they have assigned now as Theme Park vs. Lagoon view (that's a relatively new thing) but not all TPV views will have a balcony, nor all lagoon view rooms. Some buildings at the Poly do not have balconies on the 2nd floor, just a sliding door with a "fake" balcony - looks like a balcony from the outside but it's flush to the building almost, so nowhere to step outside.

In the Hawaii building (club level building), they reviewed every room and decided whether they were truly TPV or just lagoon view (possibly with an obstruction like a tree).

You can check the Tikiman website - I think he might have some more information on the view categories & buildings, but I haven't checked there lately.

Poly Theme Park View simply insures you an unobstructed view of the castle at MK.

Some of the Lagoon View rooms will also have views of the castle and/or Space Mtn, etc... but their view of the MK may be partially obstructed by a tree or the islands. We've stayed in the HA Lagoon View room, first floor of Tahiti, right next door to a Theme Park View room... and actually had an excellent view of the castle from inside of our room. My DF watched the ice lights changing color on the castle from his reclining chair (rental), and couldn't stop talking about how beautiful and magical it was. So if you are willing to chance it, LV may or may not provide views of the castle -- but what it does guarantee is water front views. :thumbsup2

We had Lv in the Hawaii building last year and it was wonderful. We sat out there almost every night, drinks in hand and watched Wishes and the EWP. Nice to not have to get down to the beach early and jostle for the best spot. The secret is out, so people come from outside of the resort to do this.

We still did club level this year but garden view..I'll be watching from the lounge this year, which is nice too.
