It's been a while since I've posted here, and to be honest... I haven't posted since my trip in August.

I just wanted to thank EVERYONE for their advice and insight. Our trip was amazing, and unforgettable.

The Polynesian was simply stunning. For anyone considering the Polynesian, there shouldn't be any doubt in your mind. I was leary on spending that much money to stay here, but now... I will NEVER stay anywhere else. Never.

We stayed in the Samoa longhouse. It was fabulous! It was perfectly located and I can't recommend it enough! It was close to the lobby (and food) and right in between the two pools. We had a ground level room, and we could simply walk out our patio right into the volcano pool. This was a family favorite and NOTHING can compare to watching the fireworks while swimming in the pool. In fact, this is what the kids talk about the most.

Ohana was our favorite restaurant, and we tried them all... I wasn't impressed with Spirit of Aloha, and don't recommend it. If you have to choose one place to eat at the Poly, Ohana is number one.

Our room was spacious, clean and well decorated. Again, the location was simply amazing and couldn't think of a better place on the grounds to stay.

Thanks again to everyone who has contributed to the site, and the trip will never be forgotten. The only negative is that future trips will be compared to the last one. Although we splurged on the Poly, I can't 'dumb our trip down' to stay at any other resort; because I know it could never compare.

I'm a Poly fan for life, even after only one trip. Just thinking about it makes me warm-n-tingley.

I am going in June for 2 nights and i was worried since they rooms are very high in price, it is nice to read this. Glad you enjoyed your trip.

So glad you had a wonderful stay! Samoa is one of my favorite garden view longhouses. Our 2nd trip to the Poly was last August too and my daughter and nephews always talk about swimming in the pool while seeing the fireworks at the MK. Truly magical.

Would you watch the fireworks the day you go to the MK at the pool rather than at the park. Say leave before they start? I am thinking it may be less hectic.

We had no desire to watch the fireworks in MK... The view was fantastic, and didn't even think about fighting the crowds. The Poly even had the same music, so it was in sync with the fireworks... Just as if you were in the park itself.

If you've never seen Wishes in the park, I don't recommend only seeing them from a resort. You do miss some of the action that takes place lower or projected on the castle. If you don't care, then, by all means. ( you also won't see tinkerbelle fly out of the castle from the Poly.)

I agree with the Op so very much about the Poly.

I liked watching Wishes in the Park once. The Tinkerbelle thing is cute. Then I was content to sit out on the beach with a cocktail watching it from "home." One minute after its done, I'm in my bed. Excellent.

Great pictures! This will be our first stay at the Poly and as you said it is expensive and it is nice to hear such positive comments since it makes me think my choice was a good one.
