Hi there! We just booked our July 2008 Disney trip at the Poly! YIPPPEEE!

I requested a volcano view at the Samoa, based on feedback from this board. My travel agent said that the volcano view is considered a water view. We can't go higher in price than a garden view. So, my question is - would you then choose the Tokelau longhouse as opposed to Samoa if it ment no volcano view?

I also MUST have a patio or balcony - very essential for relaxing while the kids are asleep!

I don't think I completely understand your post, but I'll try to help as best I can. First things first, the Samoa volcano view is not considered a water view, I don't think they even have a water view; I believe they only have garden views, lagoon views, and theme park views.

I don't quite understand why you want to stay in Tokelau, so I can't tell you if it would suit your purposes better than Samoa.

The only longhouse I've ever stayed in was Samoa, and I really liked the location. We were facing the quiet pool and had a balcony. I had also requested to be in Samoa(that's all I requested, I didn't ask for a certain view, or a balcony), but that was in January so I don't know if they'll be able to meet all your requests since you're going at a much busier time.

Don't count on getting your room location request met. BUT,if you want a balcony or patio, then either request Tokelau (all rooms have either a balcony or patio) OR request a first floor room. I have always had my request for a first floor room met. Now you may not get your choice of longhouse, but you will get a patio. I think people fret way too much over which longhouse they will end up in. We've been to the Polynesian 9 times and have always enjoyed whichever longhouse we stayed in.

Have a great trip!:goodvibes

Hi J.
While Samoa/volcano side is considered garden view, almost every room has a view of the Grand Floridian and part of the Seven Seas Lagoon. Our room was on the third floor (3605) and we could watch most of the Electrical Water Pagaent (not Wishes). Also, don't rule out the Fiji longhouse. You will have a great view of CR/ Space Mountain or Luau Cove. There is a website that tells you the view of every room at every longhouse (and anything else you could ever want to know about the Polynesian). To find it, you will have to Google "Tikiman" and "Polynesian". Happy planning... Marty

Another vote for Samoa, I think we also had 3605 and it was a great view and location.
