Any one else waiting out in the cold early this morning when they evacuated Moorea? The fire alarm went off a little after 530 am and they let us back in around 645 I think. I imagine they will receive complaints since there were no cast members providing information and it was probably 45 degrees outside - alot of folks were very unhappy. Someone from security finally let us into the lobby of another longhouse and found a few blankets , but still heard nothing, as far as I know , from anyone else. Several people called the Poly front desk and said the CM seemed unaware of the alarm. Just seemed like a very non-Disneyesque way to handle the situation , but maybe that's just the way things work. Good thing is apparently there was no damage or actual fire.

Just one more reason to re-think the poly. This early fire alarm has been reported many times now from those that have stayed at the Poly..

Sorry to hear about your early morning experience. Hopefully the rest of you vacation will be fine.

You can't call the Polynesian front desk or any front desk, you get the Call Center and I am sure they didn't know about it. Yes it would seem someone would have come to the building to check the situation.

The same thing happened to us in June but it was in the Pago Pago building. We never saw a soul from the hotel. Our alarm was earlier than yours, I think around 3ish.

Really? I recall it happened after it opened at some point a couple days in a row but that was the last I heard until this.

We had it happen in July in the Moorea building also. It was about 3 in the morning and we were outside for about 50 minutes. The fire dept came and cleared it but the cast members never gave any info. We were outside a good 15 minutes before we ever saw a cast member and then they just moved us to the parking lot. I heard someone pulled the smoke alarm but never got any confirmation.

Can happen at any resort.

We had this happen at VGC a couple weeks ago. All of Grand Californian and restaurants had to be evacuated. Eventually a CM came around with blankets.
We were eventually let back in and never told what happened.

And when the fire is real as it was years ago at VGC we'll all be happy. Entire resort was evacuated in under three minutes and all were safe.
