Poly DVC just announced.

Isn't this the only deluxe resort that does not have DVC??? What will they do now?? Think Disney will start on the moderates next??

Yacht club still does not have DVC. My guess for next would be getting rid of the garden wings at CR and building BLT twin.

I have heard this is the case. I don't know how they can do this though, that does not leave the CR with lower priced rooms. And imho only having the main building will hurt the CR. Plus the building is land locked so they can't add buildings w/o removing existing ones. I guess they could build on the other side of world drive and link the new building with the CR with a raised walkway but it would spoil the view of the CR and would be a fair amount of distance away from the CR. It will be interesting to see what they do. I have a feeling the Poly may get two DVCs. The current one at Luau Cove (proposed) and another one between the Poly and the TTC. That is good land there no reason they can't use it. Plus there is a small (small) piece of land on the other side of the Sago Cay building (GF), between the building and the small service lagoon. The only downside it is fairly low laying and the monorail goes over it...

Also remember before VGF was started they floated the idea of building a DVC where River Country is now. So that may be the next one. Who knows... I would think they would want to saturate the monorail resorts area first before moving away as the monorail resort DVCs are a mega cash cow for them.

The building over at Luau cove was in the original concept but is not what they are doing since they scaled back the project. They will convert Rapa Nui and Tahiti longhouses and build the 20 bungalows off the beach.

River Country DVC project was canceled.

Have been wishing for this for a long time! Can't wait to add on to SSR and BLT points!

Tikiman, I knew you were right! You helped us plan our initial Poly vacation in 2001.

That was way back just after I started my site.

That is interesting. Thanks for the update.
