Poly DVC at Thanksgiving - 7 Months

I know it always depends and people get lucky, etc. but my kids have both expressed a great interest in staying in a Poly studio the week of Thanksgiving (Sat - Sat). I am just wondering if there is a decent change of getting that at 7 months or is it a pipe dream and I should seriously prepare them for the probability it will not happen. Right now their is full availability for a standard view studio and partial for lake view (of course lake view is our preference but we will take whatever we could get) but that does not tell me what it will look like in a few more weeks.

I would prepare them for a possibility it won't happen. I would book your home resort and be online ready to roll at 8AM at 7 months, and know that your odds of getting it depend on the speed of your connection with DVC vs that of other users. If you're willing to possibly split a stay, you can also use the waitlist if you don't win the speed game.

If there is at least a chance (unlike GF ) I hope we can make it work. The kids are older and understand the waitlist game since we have played it before. But I just wanted to give them realistic odds so they don't get their hopes too up if it was hopeless. We managed to get WL during Thanksgiving 2015 on a waitlist and I figured there was pretty much no chance of that so maybe if we have to put in a waitlist it will work out for us again.

Poly lake view studios are already missing three days of Thanksgiving week, and, if it is similar to last year, even the standards will be filled for at least two or three days before you can reserve. Thus, I suspect you will need to do the wait list, but because Poly has a huge number of studios, you can always have a decent possibility of winning with a wait list.
