We will be going the end of October with our two DD ages 2 and 6. We think it would be good to stay at a monorail resort. Our only other on site trips have been at the All Stars.
Which monrail resort would be best with children that are 2 and 6? Which resort has the biggest rooms, best pools, good children activities, etc?

That's a tough call, and it really comes down to personal preference. The GF is my favorite Disney resort, for many reasons. I love the theme and decor of the resort, the large rooms, and of course the monorail. Both the Poly and the GF have nice new pools, and both have large rooms (the rooms at the GF are a little larger). Also, the decor of the GF is more "girly" for lack of a better word. I do prefer the bathroom setup at the GF (which has double sinks outside the toilet/shower area). Good luck choosing, and either way you can't go wrong!

Great choices! I've stayed at GF and the Contemporary. For me, I prefer the Grand Floridian. If I had children the age of your DDs I'd go with the Contemporary with a Magic Kingdom view. The rooms are large and comfortable. They'd probably love looking down into the lobby and seeing Chef Mickey all day! The gameroom is quite large. The pool is nice, although not themed like the GF and Polynesian. You can also take a short walk to MK. My favorite thing about the Contemporary is the MK view. The Grand and Poynesian offer MK view, buy you only see the very top of the castle. At the Contemporary, you feel like MK is in your backyard. :) It's so magical to sit on the balcony and watch the ENTIRE castle change colors at night. The view of the fireworks is spectacular too!

It really boils down to your kids. If your girls are little "princesses" then, go for the GF. It really is elegant and beautiful. If however, your kids are a bit more active, I would suggest poly. Myself, and my 2 younger cousins are very close, so we often go when their parents want a "romantic getaway". We are all a little "active." We would rather take hula lessons at the Poly, then sit down and have quiet tea. We would rather laugh with abandon, rather than feel pressured to be "behaved" at the GF. Even though we are girls, I guess that my "tomboyishness" has rubbed off on them. They are more likened to Lilo than Mary Poppins. That's not to say that the "frilly & froo froo thing" isn't appropriate...it just has never suited us. As per the Contemporary...if they are into science, and mechanics, and gadgets, it is a great place. Many kids will sit and watch monorails come and go for hours, just as they do for trains, buses, etc.

You know them better than any of us do.
Any choice will be a good one.
I hope you have the best time of your life.

The GF is my favorite resort and having a little girl who is a total princess who just loved the decor of it, I would say stay there! You really can't go wrong with any of your choices, it just depends on your preference of decor. Out of your choices I have only sayed at the GF and can say the room was a great large size and the transportation was good. There were alot of activities for the kids to enjoy and the pool was great too! Lucky you to have such a "tough" desicion to make;) Good luck!:)

As has been said, it really depends on your preferences, although you can't go wrong with any of them.

We've stayed at all 3 and each were great. Contemporary for it's proximity to MK (you could walk), Chef Mickeys, the monorail running right through. GF for the romance (or girliness), wonderful atmosphere with the orchestra playing at night and 1900 Park Fare. Poly is lush and tropical. And you have access to 2 monorail stations.

I don't think you can go wrong with any of those.

Check out pictures and see which one you like best and then go for it!

Have a great trip!!

Have never been to those three before, but hopes of staying at the poly in December (come on new codes and AP rates !!! :Pinkbounc :bounce: ) We picked the Poly. I have two girls also, 4 and 5. The Contemp. and the GF just seem like extra nice hotels, and the Poly just seems like a "Fantasy Island" kind of place. Any of the three would be great for little kids with the Monorail, that is why we chose to stay the Poly.

Good luck on choosing and have a great time.

I would have to say the Poly. I have never stayed at the other 2 but have stayed at the Poly 2x. My dd's (9 and 2 1/2 for last summers visit) loved everything about the Poly. The new volcano pool with the slide is great. The beach front is right there for them to play in the sand and the grounds are beautful to walk around. We find the rooms to be very spacious and comfortable with our family of 5. We do want to try the GF one day but I am waiting til the little one is a little older, maybe 6.
I do agree that the theming is a personal preference. You'll love any of the resorts you have to choose from.
