Poly construction discount

Hi

I keep reading hints about Poly discounts due to construction. However, if I look on the site I can find either concierge or Standard rooms discounted for my dates in the Summer Vacation Offer. These don't seem to be as deeply discounted as comments like "less than 1/2" and others have led me to believe. The quote I had was $310 for a standard room which is $442 rack rate.

Is there a trick to getting a big Poly discount this summer?

Try calling and asking specifically for that. Or maybe it is travel agents that have been able to get these. That may be why you are seeing hints.

We booked through Magical Vacations Travel. They had a special for August that was about $200 a night.

Disney is definitely not offering any "construction" discounts for the Poly. But there are some very deep discounts offered by a travel agency that is not supposed to be mentioned on the DIS.

However, it is mentioned in this thread.

To my knowledge in recent years none of the Disney resorts have offered a construction discount. If they did all the resorts would be offering it one or twice every other year. Disney is always maintaining its resorts and doing things as grand as adding DVC to as small as painting the building or re-landscaping the gardens.
