I will be staying with my 5 children (ages 1 thru 15) at the Poly GVC from Dec. 21 to 27 and I'm wondering what sort of room request I should make to hopefully make things easier since dh won't be there to help me with the kids (he'll be joining us on the 27th to continue our vacation offsite). When I called CRO to pay my deposit, the CM said that the refurbished Hawaii bldg would have check-in & reception on the 1st floor; food/beverage area on the 2nd floor; and library/quiet area with books and games for kids on the 3rd floor. There will be guest rooms on all 3 floors.
I remember reading that the pre-refurbished Hawaii bldg had smoking-optional on the 3rd floor, so I don't want that is it is still a smoking floor. So do you think we'd be better off on the 2nd floor near the food in a room w/o a balcony, or down on the 1st floor (further from the food!) so we'd have a patio? Too bad 3rd floor is a smoking floor or that would have been my first choice
Also, can anyone give me ideas on what I can do with/for the kids on Christmas eve and day? This trip is straining my budget already, so I really can't afford to buy expensive gifts and decorations from the Disney florist or the other gift services there, but are there some inexpensive things I can have the concierge staff help me arrange to make the holiday more magical? We'll want to do the majority of our gift opening either before or after our trip so daddy will be with us, and so we won't have to drag a bunch of stuff around with us in Florida, but I would like to have at least one small gift for each child on Christmas morning. Any ideas?
Thanks!
Sue
